Two broadcasters working together for a cross over storyline, with C4 and Five striking a deal to allow each other to screen the relevant episode of CSI Vegas and Without a Trace.

Five seem to have got the best out of this deal though by screening it first. Five got 3.8m for the ridiculously popular CSI:Yet Another Spin-Off last night, and then aired the crossover episode of Without a Trace on Five US, bringing in a record audience of 2.25m and beaten only by BBC1.

C4 and one of it's digital channels, probably More4, will screen the double bill "soon".

Five though have certainly got the best deal out of this - you'd have thought it have made more sense for C4 to agree to show the Without a Trace episode on More4 when Five showed the relevant episode, but C4 seem to have gifted Five the viewers - though I suspect they'd be getting a lump sum out of it!

That got your goat so much you said it twice?

Your pro-4 campaign is exhausting to read day in day out.

Channel 4 is his baby, everyone else is just out to get it and it's siblings (especially the BBC) with their mundane programming and bad decisions.

I think five were expecting C4 to show Without a Trace either after the episode on five or in the same week, but they refused.

I really enjoyed it last night, and they should do a crossover between all three CSI:s.

It's because Channel 4 isn't up to the crossover episode with its WAT broadcasts. It's quite ironic considering WAT struggles to get over a million on Channel 4. I imagine Five will bid for the rights when the contract comes up for renewal and if they get the show then pair it up with CSI.

How far behind are Five with all the CSI's though - all the things I've seen about the writers strike suggest they are quite some time behind.

I think C4 are showing the latter half of the last season of Without a Trace. The latest strike interrupted season is then probably due on More4.

CSI though seems to have pretty much been a saviour for Five in the last few years though.

I really don't know how the channel survived before CSI.

The current filmed episodes of the CSIs take five up to the week beginning 14th April. That's all they filmed. The next episodes are expected in the US in March, April and May. Up to 9 episodes each of Vegas, Miami and NY are expected.

We are currently 5 episodes behind the US. So, who knows what Five will do, we've never been closer than 4 episodes before.
