Former CSC channels rebranded following Trace takeover

Scuzz to return in July???

I honestly think the ratings for Trace Latina will constantly be at zero. There simply can't be a market for it in this country, surely?

There are Latinos who live in parts of London. Certainly an interesting move to target such a niche ethnic group in the UK.

In France, they have Trace Africa which targets the large French speaking African community.

There are but it's not exactly a huge population, and I can't imagine there will be many of them hunting out a new channel at the arse-end of the Sky EPG for a genre of music that chances they might not even care for!

If they're anything like other ethnic groups in the UK, they'll already source their own home grown channels. It's not that hard these days to watch content from overseas online.

There has been a lot of 'reggaeton' music around in the last couple of years and latin/pop crossovers, but they will struggle to fill a channel with crossover hits.

Latin music has been huge the last few years.

Sony/CSC have previously closed or rebranded all of their niche music channels, including Flava, which was the equivalent of Trace Urban, leaving just mainstream pop channels.

Given this, I can't see how Trace can think that niche music channels like Trace Urban and Trace Latina will be commercially viable.

The listings for the launch of Trace Urban and Trace Latina are still not on Digiguide, but have appeared in the Sky listings.

According to the listings on Sky, it looks like Trace Urban will launch at 6am, with Trace Latina launching at 12am.

Digiguide is currently showing "This Week's Biggest Hits" on Chart Show Hits/Trace Latina from midnight until 3am on 1st November, but the Sky listings are showing "Late Night Latina" from midnight until 3am, so looks like the Digiguide listings may be inaccurate.

EDIT - listings for Trace Urban and Trace Latina are now on Digiguide, which seem to show Trace Latina launching at 6am.

Tomorrow will mark the last full day of the Chart Show brand on British TV, 33 years after first launching, making it one of the oldest brands in British music TV.

Chart Show TV is described as "One of the UK's most iconic music channels" on this (now out of date) page on the Sony website:

https://www.sonypicturestelevision.com/brand.php?id=19

This really is the end of an era.

On a related note, I noticed that the launch promos for Trace Urban, Trace Latina and Trace Vault were getting regular screenings last week, but haven't seen them once this week.

Looking at the last second of that video, did Chart Show TV just pull that video off of YouTube?

That video isn't actually from Chart Show TV.

It's a video made by an account called "Chart Show TV Tribute". As mentioned in the description of the video, it has been made "In the style of the original chart show graphics 2002-2007"

It may have been made by someone from Chart Show TV, or may be from someone with no connection at all.

It would be nice if Chart Show TV did get some sort of on-air send-off, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

When Scuzz closed, the listings included programmes such as "RIP Scuzz 2003-2018" and "Scuzz is Dead", but there doesn't seem to be anything like that in the listings for Chart Show TV.
