Perhaps I wasn't free at the time Mr Humphries- perhaps I was doing Porridge or maybe Sharon & Tracey were BLANK ing too loud.

So Stephen Merchant has been announced as the host. Not sure about that appointment.

It is using the Live experience set and does seem to be a full episode.

That is fantastic. I hope Karl Pilkington turns up as one of the celebrity contestants.

Ah, for f**k sake. Why? Ugh, what an awful decision. Just no.

How will the live experience set lend itself to filming? I presume the games will need to be rejigged to allow decent camera angles and stuff?

Merchant comes across as a nice guy but I don't think the has the eccentricity to pull off hosting it. Unless they're trying to move it into a new direction.

I'm not sure they're particularly close anymore.

I'll wait until the show airs before passing judgement on Merchant.

I think it's more that Merchant isn't particularly close to Gervais anymore, and therefore not so close to Pilkington.


Pilkington had a part in Derek, Gervais' programme, but Merchant had nothing to do with that whatsoever.

Although for one heart-stopping moment I thought it was going to be Stephen Mulhern...

Surely this is just a little homage for SU2C taking advantage of the live experience existing? As has been mentioned I can't imagine it's too suitable for filming.
