Is looking good but I hope they've changed the transitions (not that we'll see much of them) and entrances so there are new elements. I suspect it is unlikely the river has been retained.

Why do you feel we won't see much of them?? It used to take them ages to enter the Industrial Zone through the barbed wire and climbing up through the hole in the fence. I hope longer transitions are well represented in the new series if it takes them longer to do. Rather than we'll show 20 seconds of this transition, as we will with all transitions. As they did with Stephen Merchant.

The industrial zone, although it looks similar to the original, appears smaller though. However, it still looks amazing nonetheless!!

Purely because of the commercial breaks. In the old days there was one break less so the move from zone 2 to 3 was shown in full but now will be split with a break, though personally I wouldn't and instead have the extra break before the Dome.

Obviously with the Stephen Merchant version the zones weren't played in the order they're built at the experience so having the breaks meant they could hide that.

They weren't they were played in the order of the TV show. Which meant you saw a shot of moving from Industrial to Future after Medievil had just been played. I think that shows how committed to be true to the original these guys are.

By the way in Manchester which works a bit different zone order is true to the original.

Tellymix (?) also confirms celebrity special 23rd June at 9pm with Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba, TOWIE's Lydia Bright, dancer Louie Spence, The Last Leg's Alex Brooker and reality star Vicky Pattison.

Link has a picture of this lot in the Aztec Zone:

In a sign I'm either getting really old or totally disenchanted with (reality) TV, I only know who Louie Spence is and haven't a clue who the rest are...

The Future Zone was always going to need the most revamping. Any time anyone does anything "in the future" it only takes a few years for it to date itself - CRT monitors hanging from motorised frames doesn't really say "future" these days (and there was already quite a bit of stylistic overlap between Future and Industrial back in the day). It's one reason that Doctor Who, since it restarted, doesn't dress future charcters in "futuristic" fashions any more.

Is there anything that Ore Oduba isn't on these days, he pops up on everything since his strictly win, a far cry from reading the sports news.

There is a reason he's on a lot of TV. He's a really good presenter and comes across well.
Warbler, DE88 and Brekkie gave kudos

Regarding the changing between zones, Channel 4 have released a set of pictures of the zones and one of them is the transition between Medieval and Futuristic complete with the spikes in the walls and the thin walkway over a pool of water.

I imagine instead of the life there will be some type of shuttle to take contestants too Aztec from future and visa-versa.

I was actually waiting for him to return back the BBC Breakfast red sofa.
I guess now that he won the entirely invented for television dancing competition, that slumming it in Salford for 3 mornings per week with Walker, Michin et all is now way beneath him?

Back on topic.
Nice pictures. When I heard they were remaking it, I was fearing a 'modern technology means we can do this on the cheap and add a lot of things in the background during post-production' however, looking at those shots of the four zones - not so. Really nice updating work by James Dillon that has been followed all the way through from idea to screen.
