I think the Bothers Bar webmaster was tweeting about Craig Charles having hosted corporate events at the original Aces High studios not for broadcast. Given that he's Manchester based, and less busy now between Red Dwarf tapings, maybe he's in for a shout?

He lost out on Robot Wars, so it would be nice to see him do something like this.

Can't warm to Dara "hands in the pocket, not very enthused" O'Briain's presenting style on RW.

What's Russell Brand up to these days?

NO! Don't even think of considering that annoying total **** as a host for The Crystal Maze!

Thats not a bad idea. Where tv forums commission.

Not a bad idea? Only if you want the show to flop with abysmal ratings.

Don't hold back, tell us what you really think of him.

There was a fear a new host may make the show more about them than the show itself.
Merchant didn't do this, some of the names suggested definately would, like Brand.

Johnny Ball would be good.

I've always thought Red Dwarf actor and former Scrapheap Challenge presenter Robert Llewellyn would be an excellent choice for presenter of any new series of the CM.

He has the slightly eccentric, quirky nature and (as shown on Scrapheap) was pretty good at ad-libbing one liners and faces to camera.

Hey, he could even morph into Kryten in the Futuristic zone. Laughing

Interceptor and Brekkie gave kudos

Not sure Robert would thank you for "ex-Red Dwarf" - there's a new series airing on Dave at the moment (or just finished).

But not a bad shout for the Maze

Why is everyone suggesting septuagenarians (it's right, I Googled it) for the gig? At the very least there's running around, not to mention climbing, crawling, jumping and sliding between zones!

With his positive energy and all that he would be perfect..................
