Russell Brand has been suggested numerous times, but someone like Alexander Armstrong could work.

Suggested by idiots on DS, probably.

Can you see movie star, comedian and general bon vivant Russell Brand leaving all that to front a quiz on ITV?

Nah. Me either.

Might as well stick Dale Winton on it and at least we can have a laugh when Harry Hill gets to it.

In fact Harry Hill as presenter might work

Which is better? The Aztec Zone or the Future Zone-- only way to find out...

Richard O'Brien hasn't changed that much since his Crystal Maze days, I believe he turned 70 backend of last year? Still busy on the stage, so I think he's as spritely as ever.

I wonder Edward TP is up to these days?

No, much as I like the bloke, Harry Hill is far too familiar to do this sort of show any justice. We all know that Harry Hill is a character and once you get past his social commentary, a pretty shallow character.

You'd either need an unknown or a total excentric, somebody that you could believe actually does live in that strange world, rather than just turning up for work every now and again.
He'd be as annoying as chuff, but I dare say Brian Blessed (or someone of his ilk) would fit the role brilliantly!

Brian Blessed would be brilliant, can't see him sprinting about the maze like a dandy countryman though.

Some said before, Derren Brown would be a good choice.

Russell Brand would be good, as would Derren Brown. Or David Tennant. Ed Tudor Pole could make a comeback! That would be wicked!! Or how about Melinda Messenger, now she's not doing Fort Boyard? Wow!

To be honest, any new person will always be judged against Richard O'Brien. Ed Tudor Pole, although he was completely different to Richard O'Brien, actually did a good job as Mazemaster. But everyone compared him to ROB. Now, 15 years on since it was last shown on Channel 4, people wouldn't be able to make as much of a comparison as time has passed and there would be a completely refreshed, new audience plus everybody who watched it before! So Ed Tudor Pole and his cosmic handshakes would be ideal!!

But Amanda Holden - definitely not! People would think Amanda Holden has turned up to present the Maze again - whereas Rick and Ed WERE the Maze - if you know what I mean. Amanda Holden would never say she owned a horse called Bert and kept him in Medieval - nor would she talk to Barbara the computer in Futuristic!

It's a role which needs an actor really, rather than presenter - and anyone who has seen Amanda Holden in anything will know she's clearly not an actor!

I recall I watched her something. Yes. Her performance ran the gamut from A to B.

To be fair she's equally guff at presenting.

For some reason I can't see it happening, sources are The Sun and Digital Spy..... need I say more? Wink Plus don't forget the amount of times the revive has been mooted, the cost for the set would be enormous and to be honest I don't think ITV have that kind of money to p*ss about with at the moment, don't forget when the original set was built for Channel 4 nearly 20 years ago, it cost £1 Million even before a single episode had been shot.

Even if it does come back, who ever hosts should be flamboyant in that style, and I don't think Amanda Holden would be right for that, maybe as said someone like Russell Brand would make sense.

Worth noting that both Digital Spy and Media Guardian's articles state "according to the Sun". In terms of sets & costs I think it would be affordable if ITV were able to get a couple international TV companies to record their own versions using their set & studio/location (ala Fort Boyard).

Here's an idea, Endemol take it on on the backend of Big Brother revenue!
