I don't think it is a cult.

Why do you think it is a cult, and why are you doing a study on it?

Talking of The Crystal Maze, did any other country buy the rights to make their own version? I know it was kind of the first attempt at a UK version of Fort Boyard, but it was different enough to be a format in it's own right too. I prefer it to any of the three UK versions of Fort Boyard that have been made. I think the sets made the programme. I can't think of another gameshow with such impressive sets, they wouldn't look out of place in a drama.

I don't believe it was made in other countries, whether there were other similar shows to TCM/Fort Boyard which weren't connected in the same way those were, I don't know.

It's something I have researched, but i've yet to find anything concrete.

I'm sure someone at Bothers Bar would know, he used to post on here sometimes.

Which was your favourite zone? Mine is Ocean in the final ROB series. Although I'd have happily have took the family on holiday to the Aztec zone if I worked on the production team, as it looked hot. It would have saved a few quid as well.

Does anyone know if any bits of the set remain? Anyone got one of the Crystals? Is there a door left anywhere? We need to know!

Perhaps someone has one of the clocks from Ocean or the digital timers from Futuristic, hourglass's from Medieval or the water timer things from Aztec.

They did well to make each of the Zones distinctive. It wasn't just a visual thing, although that was the main aspect - the whole atmosphere seemed to change; that's what I liked about it.

I'm pretty sure that way back when, Aztec was a favourite of mine.

It would probably be a different choice now - Industrial, maybe?

They were called pugil sticks.

Industrial, maybe?

Industrial was so dull and simplistic when compared to Ocean that replaced it.

I liked Ocean as well actually, how it looked and sounded.

I remember in one of the later series with Ed, seeing a game there which looked particularly good; just too long ago to know exactly what it was. Might have to search some episodes on YT...
