There's gonna be a big World Cup cliffhanger one hour long special episode of Crossroads this Thursday - where Sarah and Mark are gonna cop off together, Julie goes into labour and Brian escapes from the chokey!
Anyway - UTV are going to *OPT OUT OF CITV* (yes, that's right!) on Thursday in order to bring us the double episode at 4:35PM (so UTV Live doesn't have to be chopped in any way!) They'll drop the Angry Beavers in order to show it. I'll be interested to see how they manage that one if the Central-sourced presentation doesn't end till 5:05!
So you can catch the episode on
UTV - 4:35PM
Rest of network - 5:05PM
Any fans who want instructions of how to get UTV on Sky PM me!
Interesting. CITV will probably spend the entire time, saying there are 6 episodes of The Angry Beavers, all the way to 5pm this afternoon!
And I wouldn't be surprised if there is an ECP on Thursday lunchtime advertising the hour long episode 'Tonight at 5'
Its not often UTV show networked programmes EARLIER than everyone else!

Peter, do you mean by some seperate feed or do they tape the lunchtime showing off of the network feed from LNN? (Like Channel used to do when TSW showed it at 5.20 but they wanted it on at 6.35)
Separate feed. Last time I saw it happening, it was the same line that trails, and live shows like This Morning and the Lunchtime News was coming down clean with no ads.
Coronation Street comes down after lunchtime for transmission that evening, so Crossroads would probably get sent around the same time for transmission that evening too, hence why UTV can re-schedule it.

Why would UTV want their own tape of Corrie when they show it with everyone else at 7.30? Or is it because they're based over water and therefore need separate network feed arrangments? (like Channel do?)
It should be used more often so we can have it like the old days when regions showed shows when they wanted to, not when network centre told them to.
I remember when CITV first started going live on Sundays they once had a menu and for the programme that was on at 10.00 it said Not in Grampian or Scottish regions underneath - I thought that was a bit strange for them to display that.

On the subject of Sunday CiTV, is there any particular reason why they've started using CSO rather than the main studio on Sundays? I know they share the studio (AFAIK Central Court's only studio facility) with Central News, but they always used to do Sundays in the studio, so it may not be anything to do with that...

Because they might be rehearsing Central Newsweek?
i was going to mention this - also alot of weekend stuff used to be done out of vision for a while.
central newsweek is prerecorded on friday afternoons i think - just after the lunchtime show, just before CITV start rehearsing .... so it cant be that.
i think it might be done in the CSO on occasions when central show live football on a weekend - which uses the central west studio - and would obviously need to be constructed a while before going to air - thus meaning citv is homeless.
i dont know why CITV couldnt just present from the central news set with a few of the props here and there - no one would notice.
