Crossroads: 2003 and Beyond

Not technically telly, but I thought you'd like to look... (August 2003)

I don't know how many of you know about this and I didn't start reading it until the new run of episodes started yesterday but there's a fantastic fan-fiction group which has carried Crossroads on from the Angel now working in Somerfield episode.

At the minute they're doing some fantastic flash-back episodes to wrap MK2's unresolved storylines up, triggered off by the second return of Billy to King's Oak. The episode concentrates on who really murdered Brian. Angel is currently going senile and Jimmy's been shot and looks likely to die. Vic dying and selling the hotel onto Max is going to be explained too.

This isn't some halfway-house job, it's actually been really well thought-out and anyone still missing either MK2 or MK3 should definetely check it out!

For those of us not blessed with a Yahoo ID to join this group (there still are some people believe it or not) then you can grab the text of the episodes on my Planet Crossroads site (see here for the current archive).

The group has posted ep 4975, I'm currently hosting up to ep 4950. But I'm adding on average six to seven extra episodes a day to my archive until I've caught up, should be all there by the end of the weekend.

Hell, if James can plug, I can plug as well Very Happy

What Neil ain't said is that Destination Crossroads has been hosting the episodes since the start of August and now has both this week's new episodes and the whole backlog of june-aug episodes too... which is nice. Laughing

Surprised Well you could have advertised DC too! You know we are very supportive of PC, well I am.. especially since a certain someone left the Fan Club.. actually, my old ID went hayward so I'm back as TTTV.. was wondering if you knew it was me Mr Jones!

Well I'm sure Neil will have said elsewhere but do check out Planet Crossroads, its got a lovely new look and I've joined the forum there so there is no competition, everyone has their own little exclusives and such, so we all get on lovely..

And Doug of Crossroads 2003 and beyond has been in touch to say the new episodes aim to be more MK2 friendly - and maybe the return of Adam Chance! Wonderful stuff! Rolling Eyes

Yeah, as I said, the way they're wrapping up the Phil/Sam/Nicola/Brian storyline is really good - there's been a lot of thought put into it and I don't think that it would have been resolved better even if Yvon Grace had indeed resolved it.

Totally Agree James, the episodes have been well planned and even looking back to the earlier editions from June/July real continuity and effort has been made to get the past right or at least remember it correctly.

The sorting out of Mk2 has been done perfectly and goes to show that sometimes the fans do know best.

I think Yvon, had she produced Crossroads like she produced Holby would have made the show a hit, and could have given us exellent episodes like we are seeing on Crossroads 2003 and Beyond.

I left that when a certain somebody who's no longer on the club suddenly decided that when I forwarded a point of potential (which turned out not to be actual) complaint, he decided without reading the mail that I was the one doing the complaining. No point arguing since the person in question never was very good at responding to specific points so didn't bother. Easier to quit. I'll stop it there.

Yeah, all that needed altering was the storylines really and throwing a few people out. Another fantastic episode today too - this is becoming quite compulsive viewing! I can picture it all happening on-screen really well too. Great concept, can't wait for the 5000th episode!

Looking very forward to seeing Kate's old childhood friend Angela come to run the hotel, also looks like Adam Chance is coming back.

Adam Chance of course was meant to be coming back in the real show. He was going to become Angel's own little Rasputin. I wonder whether Joe and Cleo would have found Jenny yet though.
