Isn't the old Family Affairs exterior set still there, or at least it was until recently as it keeps popping up on adverts.

I remember a few years back they used the old Bill sets for that strange ITV police interview "docudrama"- which was basically just full of old soap stars.

The website for the studio states the exterior set is still there but Police, Hospital and House of Lords sets are gone

As I understand it as of now TC2 will be used for set storage. There is no permanent control room planned only 1 & 3 are to have money spent on the refit. Things change from month to month so its a wait and see.

Have heard that - but also heard other rumblings. Sharing a control room with TC1 or 3 would also make sense.

After all TC2 was never really properly upgraded to HD - and relied on rigging additional HD gear in it for much of its life. Shows booked into TC2 would regularly move to the HD TC4 if it was available because it avoided the requirement for installing the rented in HD gear, saving S&PP money, and was a nicer space for production to work in. (The other small studios TC5 and 7 were never HD)

I'm sure the option of parking a scanner to allow all three studios to run simultaneously would also be an option, as it is in PQ where they have more studios than galleries.

However being a small studio (relatively speaking) it almost certainly won't get the level of demand that TC3 gets.

Its where to park the scanner which will be the fun job. There is a small space next to TC3 but the owners of the posh flats aren't going to want much in the way of that sort of thing going on. There is also a noise and operations curfew with the lease of the studios. There will be no striking and resetting overnight Sadly now its only a Television centre in name - in reality its a posh apartment block with a few media offices.

And mentioning that, I've just seen the old Family Affairs set again, in that Phil Tuffnell ad for Stoptober. Still getting its use 11 years after the show was axed!

So, that's it! According to Jeremy, that was the "last in this series" of Crimewatch - although most viewers would never have considered it a series. "We'll be back again in the Spring." But will the roadshow?

I've really struggled to find any shots of this programme that actually look good on television. I can only assume they've gone and made it this bad deliberately in order to get some budget back (and maybe even a studio) next time round.

They need to ditch the outside full stop - tonight was terrible trying to hear Jeremy talking to people as all you could hear was the rain chucking down!
