No doubt it will have a "Crime Cam".

Based on recent reinvented shows, no doubt it will have a audience that just shuffle about in the background.

It's pretty much a given that there will be some daft gimmicky feature to dumb down an item.

A shame, at one time it had respect.

It depends, if it does result in more crime being solved, you can't argue with format changes, I don't think it will down to format change, but perhaps as it's on more.

Then they'll have a feature where they show different families sitting on sofas giving commentary on the re-enactments we've just watched.

Half an hour for four weeks every four months? That's less, and even if it is an hour long that's still only the same as before.

This is a perfect example of change for the sake of it - presumably in aid of plumping up the ego of a new producer who is desperate to make their mark on something iconic.

Nowhere has it said it's going to be half an hour, I don't know where people have got this from. Or indeed much of the stuff on the last few pages. Shall we wait until it's actually on television, perhaps?

Agreed. I suspect the 4 weeks in September is a trial for the new format and there may be tweaks before they start "properly"'a few months later.

It's an interesting experiment. Crimewatch is now the only programme to regularly use C1 in Cardiff, a production studio that's not going to be replaced in the new BBC Wales building AIUI. I wonder if they're trying to see if the format will work without using a studio?

The production office is at the drama production centre isn't it? So they can collaborate on reconstructions and borrow props from Holby.

I think there has been some non drama made there before, possibly with a scanner as an OB? Could that be the plan?
