I agree with speeding up the end credits on films, once they have progressed past the cast list. Many modern feature films have very long end sequences. Is it really reasonable to allow 3 minutes of BBC1 airtime to be occupied by scrolling white text on a black backgorund, detailing the 2nd unit driver, the catering supervisor etc?

In The Netherlands they only show end-credits to home grown programmes/films. Any foreign film or programme (including British ones) the credits are entirely cut - so the programme/film finishes with the last scene and then into a programme promotion and then next programme or commercials

What about the production slides, surely there's legal reasons that they'll need to show that at least as most carry the copyright details?

Slightly OT, but not worth a new thread - loving the E4 continuity on the ECP at the end of Hollyoaks.
"We thought it never get a second series - and if it did, we wouldn't buy it. But it did - and we have, The War at Home - next!"
Back to C4, well Film4 - I assume now they still squash the film credits and put the Film4 promos on the RHS, as is standard for all the C4 stations now.
Always felt the previous "FilmFour" promotions were done pretty well with them superimposed over the top half of the credits, with the remaining credits still scrolling at the bottom and not being squashed or reduced. There were a few versions of it but at one point they had a rather nice ECP which faded out below the credits under it.

I just love E4 announcers, I love the captions during Friends:
'Next - Could it be more Friends?'
and 'Next - More Friends (sigh)'
Both this anno & the War At Home anno, rather unusual to hear a network take the p*ss out of it's own programming

Colin Weston was rollocked apparently when he announced for Border and said a particular film was "one to miss".
How I long for Paul Jamieson or Mark Manchester to knock back the vino right before their ITV1 shifts and tell us what they really think about whatever they're introducing!

With the "foreign" shows there is absolutely nothing - scene finishes and then straight to a programme promotion and then straight to next programme or commercials - no holding slide, no shrinking of the screen or anything.
The only time when "foreign" shows have the end-credits is when the programme continues during the credits and then when the scene finishes so do the credits.
As bad a aprogramme is "The Nanny" - the god awful US sitcom from the mid 90's which was shown on Sky1 continues through the whole end-credits thus its one of a few programmes that does actually show the whole thing, whereas "Dharma & Greg" and the more recent "CSI" shows end on the last scene then thats it end of the programme with no credit whatsoever and not even a (c) anywhere to be seen.

CSI's end with the Executive Producer credit with the music from the scene following through. Do they cut these out?
