Can't upload a picture atm, but the signal on five on analogue was poor. It's a lot older than 10 years.
It'll be a Group A then, only responds properly to UHF chs 21-34. The old four analogue channels from Craigkelly were 21,24,27,31. Before DSO the main PSB muxes were also in the 20s region.
From yesterday, the three main PSB muxes have taken over 21,24,27. However the COM muxes have moved from 23, 39, and 42, to 42, 45, and 49. It looks as if you've lost the two COM muxes that are now on 45 and 49 (C5 analogue used to be on 48 )
You probably need to replace the aerial with a Wideband, this covers 21-68.
Bah! I think that explains my problem on Belmont! On analogue, I only have four channels, and on Freeview, just BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, CBBC, BBC News, BBC Text, which I assume is just a single mux. I was hoping DSO, which is less than two months away, would solve it, or at least add more channels, but you've as good as confirmed we'll be needing a new aerial.
After DSO at Belmont, more of the muxes will actually move into Group A, and therefore receivable by your existing aerial.
The BBC Mux (UHF Ch 22), the ITV-1/C4/Five Mux (Ch 25) the HD Mux (new for Belmont Ch 28 but you will require
a Freeview HD equipped TV or box (HD Ready is NOT the same)), and Mux A, (Ch 30) QVC, ITV 3, and other channels.
The two muxes still out of range will be Arqiva A and B on UHF 53 and 60.
I should emphasise that every transmitter is different, but almost without exception it's been arranged that after DSO every transmitter will carry at least the main SD BBC mux, main SD ITV/4/5 mux, and the HD mux on three out of the four old analogue frequencies, thus ensuring that older 'non wideband' aerials will be able to receive those core services after DSO.
At many sites, and the major regional ones (Crystal P, Sutton C, Winter Hill, Emley Moor, Mendip, Wenvoe, etc) all six muxes reside within the legacy aerial group.
