Schedule update on RadioTimes.com...
Intrestingly, the schedules haven't been updated on BBCi or the Sky EPG, usually they are updated quite quickly.

Anna Ford said on the 1 that the 6 would be extended, but gave no more information than that.
Looking at the schedule, what do we think will be pulled to make way for it? The National Lottery show perhaps?

Yeh yeh, of course Nick Robinson was the best thing since sliced bread when he worked for News 24 wasn't he ?
He was A LOT better on News 24 as their Chief Political Correspondent, as he works better during developing stories. Being the Politcal Editor or ITV News, he doesn't appear soely on the News Channel often, except during major stories like IDS yesterday. Usually its left to one of the Poltical Correspondents who normally appear on the News Channel only. His talents are being wasted.

I'm definitely an Andrew Marr fan, I think he's brilliant at what he does. Nick Robinson is just a cheap pretender.

I agree. He should be earning his money on the news channel. But then again, how often do you see Andy Marr on News24?

More often than Nick Robinson. Andy Marr's reports always usually appear on News 24, and he does a live link with News 24 just after he's done one for the 1 / 6 / 10 news.
Plus News 24 have their Chief Politcal Correspondent, Nick Robinson's replacement Guto Harri, who unless Andy Marr is around does what Andy Marr would do for News 24.

If they don`t extend the Evening News, then they will most likely use the excuse that 3 other terrestial channels (BBC1, Channel 4 and five) will be covering it (BBC1 with an extended 6, C4 and five have bulletins at 7pm anyway). Plus, they won`t want to piss off the Emmerdale viewers and lose the ad revenue during Emmerdale.

The same could be said for all of ITV's correspondents, that they don't appear enough on the news channel. I remember last year, straight after the evening news, Geraint Vincent did a live OB for the ITVNC. When he'd finished, the presenter (think it was Andrew Harvey) said something like "Geraint Vincent, thanks very much for your time." I thought, what bloomin time? It's his job isn't it, not a flippin favour!

Yup, no doubt their effort will just be a plug for the ITV News channel.
