I doubt they'd tweak the theme tune much - and certainly not the 30-second countdown itself. I know they tired to revamp that a few years ago but it didn't last too long.
Just the same theme tune but slightly updated, it has had numerous tweaks since it debuted. If you're getting a completely new team then it should have a new set, titles and a new variation of its theme tune.

Anyone got the Celebrity Countdown titles - they seem to be the ones missing from most online collections.

Good luck, Jeff. The second best host they could have chosen Wink

Laughing As long as you don't do a John Stape on Mr Stelling, as revenge :wink.

Be of good cheer, not doing Countdown must mean you're free to do much better things in the future-- one hopes Cool

Two excellent presenter's in there own right - Des O Connor & Carol Vorderman, I'm sorry to see Carol leave Countdown after 26 years in the Co Helm seat. I wish her well

I'm hoping the two new Presenters will be ok

According to a thread on the C4Countdown Forum, the new set is blue, with a slight modification of the titles.

From another thread on that board...

Interesting that the new set isolates the competitors so much from Jeff/DC that they have to pass "same here" slips to each other for checking.

And this would be brilliant as a remixed theme (shortened obviously): http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Cbq7uqM2AIQ&fmt=18

I very much doubt it would work though but I like it. Laughing

Bit too clubby-like for Countdown, me thinks.

You can tell she has to keep talking to hold back tears. I'm sure tomorrow's shows will be emotional as she says.

Countdown has been quite watchable with Des O'Connor at the helm.
It won't be the same without Carol Vorderman and her ability to do..... maths.
Channel 4 should not have got rid of the two unless it was personal choice.
Hopefully, ITV would see sense and persuade Des to rejoin ITV for his brilliant talk show "Des O'Connor Tonight". It was a fantastic programme.
Des keeps mentioning his latest CD - I can't seem to see it anywhere. I'm only in my mid-20s and I have 4 CDs of him and 2 records - it goes to show Des does have some sort of appeal to youngsters today.

The Tesco advert involving Des is good. Instead of singing "Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire", he should have sung a rap song with swearing in!! That would really suit him!

I think his latest album is exclusively available at Tesco.
