I've decided that this paper probably reported that Vorderman would be returning to Countdown last week so they had to run a 'story' this week saying she wouldn't be returning to Countdown after all.
Why did you post it? What new information does it add?

No, you're right, I just wanted to bump the thread really.
I'm not sure if others are feeling the same, but when I first heard it, I thought 'what an odd choice', but after thinking about it thought maybe he would do it very well.
For anyone who's not popped into the Channel 4 thread it's my duty to inform youre star of TV's The Apprentice Nick Hewer is to be become the new host.
This could turn out to be great or it might be a great mistake.
He'd have been a good choice for Blockbusters too.

nothing stopping to do both, is there?
I wouldn't think bosses of Countdown would be too keen on him doing it.
Be interesting to see if he's any good - has he any presenting experience? I suspect like Jeff Stelling he'll be a complete newbie to many Countdown fans too - and I think as it still appears Jeff had changed his mind and wanted to stay replacing him for the sake of replacing him is rather stupid (but hey, that's Jay Hunt for you!).
And good it's finally getting new titles, though looks more evolution than revolution again.
I don't know if it's been mentioned here yet, but there's an Australian version called Numbers and Letters - the title is a direct translation of the name of the French original that Countdown is based on, but the Aussie version is almost exactly based on the Countdown variation of the rules.

I wonder if Challenge could pick up this version?
With the set so similar to ours, I keep thinking it is from one of those impressions shows.
