I have just rad on digitalspy.co.uk that there is going to be a gay kiss on Corrie in October between Tod Grimshaw and Nick Tilsley (back from Canada).

It said that Tod has been coming to terms with his sexuality....I have to say that I haven't notices Todd ever seeming to be worried and seems quite ok with Sarah! As a gay man - I have not noticed any shifty glances at other men on the street...not that any of them are good looking apart from Tod himself!!

What does everyone else think? It just seems to be quite unconvincing that between now and 5th October he suddenly decides he is gay!

I read it wont be until nick returns to the street that he starts to show signs of being "that way inclined"

a) Both these characters are BUTCH LAGER DRINKERS WHO WOULD NEVER TOUCH A MANS ARSE UNLESS THEIR HAND FELL ACCIDENTALLY IN THAT DIRECTION, AND SOMEHOW GOT STUCK THERE. Well maybe not Nick. I always had my suspicions with him.

b) OMG!!!! WTF!!! etc What next, Sarah has a lesbian affair with Katie?

c) I'm inclined to think this is a joke/mistake/wishful thinking

c) I'm inclined to think you're lying, Mr Snooty.

a) What a bizarre thing to say. Do you think that being butch and drinking lager is incompatible to being gay? You should make less pointed opinions on things you have little experience with.

b) Calm down, its only a soap opera.

c) I'm inclined to think you've never seen a copy of TV Quick etc etc, where this has been strongly leaked.

EDIT: And you have edited the nonsense you wrote and frankly made yourself seem even more stupid. You complete and utter prat .

...and it was after a drunken night out, you will probably know yourself that anything can happen after 'one of those nights'.

Not sure I like the storyline though... Nick apparently storms off. Why can't they just introduce a straight forward gay couple?

No one knows much about anyones sex life on Coronation Street, so introducing two gay guys isn't going to make the slightest difference.

Stupid boy. Are you saying there are no gay butch lager drinkers? You want to be a bit more open minded.

Get off your high horse, Gavin. You know what I'm getting at. In soap land, gay characters never drink lager, instead it's lemon and lime, or a nice pineapple sherry . And yes I do have "experience", being that way inclined, myself. WOULD YOU LIKE AN IRONY DETECTOR WITH THAT SIR?

TV Quick is for peasants. I read "The Radio Times - Disseminating Quality Information Since Ooh...Some Time In The 1920s"

I dont remember saddling up on my high horse Musk. You'll know when it happens. I'm not much bothered which way 'inclined' you are, but wouldnt you rather that broad generalisations about "gay men not drinking lager" were done away with? Why would you seek to perpetuate that myth?

I was only responding (a la Michael Winner) to your hysterical OMG!!! WTF!!!

As do I. It has been trailed in there too.

I am clever and authoritative. Formatting of text doesnt alter that one way or another.

Good day.

Christ!

An innocent query about an up and coming storyline and its hijacked by people misinterpreting all the little gay issues people have.

I'm gay and took no offence whatsoever about the 'larger drinking 'issue''. Please people, get some perspective....it's not as if it's homophobic.

Stereotypes are there for a reason......you have to admitt that the majority of gaymen...certain ones on the scene are less than masculine and don't frink bitter or larger.

Agreed Smile

In addition to Mike's comments: sorry I'm a little tetchy today. I've got a blinding headache and no cigarettes.

Back to the point of your thread - It would be nice to see (as fusionlad said) a straightforward (no pun intended) gay couple. The old spinning top sexuality always gets my goat, much like Tony Hills in EastEnders.
