Corrie wants Alfie Moon!

It seems ITV want Shane Richie to do Coronation Street, other primetime shows, and TV movies.

Why do you keep starting threads with just a link?

Very annoying if you don't want to visit any external sites...

It's a link to a news article - and I did give you the gist of the story i.e. ITV want to poach him.

It'd be interesting if ITV bosses managed to poach Shane Ritchie from EastEnders, and the scriptwriters wrote
his Alfie Moon character out of EastEnders by having him move up north to Manchester, like previous ex-EE
characters. Then, Coronation Street producers could write his (former) EastEnders character into a Corrie
storyline, perhaps to replace Peter Barlow. Et voila, we'll have the first ever EastEnders/Corrie crossover!

Since this is very relevant to Consternation Street, why has it not been posted in the thread dedicated to discussion of that prime time drama.

Creating threads such as these is a very untidy practice, and only serves as an exercise in self promotion and assuaging attention deficit syndrome.

I posted about this news in the corrie thread on Sunday - if you had read that thread you wouldnt have needed to start another thread!

A lot of the time the very long threads are quite intimidating - you sometimes have to trawl through pages and pages before you can post without fear of double posting...

I agree with Aston, the corrie thread is now ridiculously over sized.

So would you prefer to see tens of Consternation Street threads polluting the TV Forum thread listing?

If there is so much posting within that single thread that it has become unwieldy, and ifsufficient interest exists, then a separate Forum should be created dedicated to that prime time drama.

The Corrie thread isnt too long - there are several threads longer than that! The Wales thread is over 200 pages, the longest thread on the forum!

As others have said, it should have been posted in the Coronation Street thread!

Reposting already known info would still happen in that case, but at least it wouldn't be a new thread!

All though this would be good to see I doubt that the script writers would want to do this as they would have to keep "alfie" in character. ie they would be limited (to start with) in what they could do with him. (they would not be able to introduce him as a woman batterer for example)
