Not quite a virtual substitute but BBC Sport are streaming last year's Headingley Test Match Special in full over four days from tomorrow.

Well I quite fancied some Ancient Greek drama tonight, was looking forward to it. A let down a very poor SD recording in 4:3 on Vimeo is not what I expected from a reasonably well known German Playhouse. Ah well onwards.

A few bits of sporting action worth mentioning, it seems that bookmakers are taking the lead on finding alternative live sports action.

Paddy Power have organised Darts at Home (although pre-recorded so no betting)

The PDC seem to be doing their own version which is live but has much lower production values.

Bet365's website has the world feed of live football from Belarus whose league is (controversially) still operating.

I'm surprised that Sky Sports Racing's evening Stateside coverage isn't being simulcasted on Main Event in the absence of anything else.

That Paddy Power version, is basically what I thought the PDC version would look like.

Sadly the PDC version looks like it was filmed on a couple of potatoes.

I wonder if anybody has experimented with feeding the output of a 360 degree camera through Skype (or similar)? If it could be streamed at high enough resolution to wherever the stream is being assembled they could crop out different shots from the one frame to get the traditional split screen view we are used to in darts without having to deal with getting different cameras in sync.

9 darter on the PDC though was quite a nice moment.

Motor racing fully bedded in now with events it seems. Everyone and their dog is on iRacing, which is very cool. IndyCar and Nascar fully running pro events with occasional guest racers in as well.

The Modus darts channel on YouTube is doing the same format as the PDC but in much better quality.
