Presumably been far fewer films to review anyway.

To be honest a lot of the show in normal times is taken over to listener correspondence, so there hasn't been a huge difference to the show itself. The podcast version, with extra bits at the top and tail is pretty much the same length too when Mayo and Kermode are on.

BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music : Various changes to their evening and weekend schedules, mainly to simplify them. Once again they "will remain under review for the foreseeable future".

It looks like Radio 2 went back to normal in the third week of July, and 6 Music's standard schedule returns next week. Are there many other 'simplifications' still in place across the network?

Marc Riley (7pm-9pm) on 6 Music will remain pre-recorded from home. Think the same applies to Gideon Coe (9pm-midnight).

Little Mix The Search off air on 17 October BBC One due to a "small number" of the crew testing positive for the virus. Filming on Britain's Got Talent Christmas special already postponed yesterday due to at least three people testing positive.

Now the Downing Street briefings are ad hoc rather than daily would surely make more sense to just drop Pointless on the days they're held at 5pm rather than move it to BBC2.

I’m guessing it would mess with the scheduling of episodes as it’s on a rolling jackpot.

An ECP appeared during the closing moments of the weather on BBC One Scotland. Originally intended for the end of Pointless, obviously.

They've only relatively recently reset the jackpot on the show as it had got up to a nice five figure sum, something like £17k, and they tend to only move it between channels once the jackpot has been reset, as opposed to a one-off like happened today. A few months ago when the briefings were daily and Pointless was permanently on BBC Two, they waited for a reset and wheeled out the repeats that normally wouldn't have happened anyway.

Plus of course since they've introduced the new "jackpot booster" session prior to round three, it's probably safe to assume any older episodes will never be seen again on the BBC, but that's only been there a few weeks so its not like they've got a massive archive of that revised format yet to repeat.

All of that being said, I dare say Pointless rates better on BBC Two than whatever it's trampled over would have done. Richard Osman said on Twitter once their BBC Two ratings were dependent on who was hosting the briefing on BBC One and certain figures tended to repeal the viewers, shall we say.
