You’ve Been Framed had a novelty factor as camcorders were very expensive back in the 90s. Given the advent of smartphones and YouTube, it’s surprising that YBF have managed to remain on air.

Probably because it's VERY cheap filler now, seeing as the studio portions are long gone. Just put it together in an edit suite, give Harry Hill a few hours in a studio to record a series worth of links, and bingo. A whole series probably costs less than one episode of a drama or a gameshow. Even if barely anyone watches it, it probably still makes money.

Do they still pay £250 a clip?

Probably only for new clips sourced from the UK, not for clips from other countries, or old clips being re-used (which there seems to be fair bit of).

As you say, You've Been Framed initially had a vote at the end of each show to pick the best video, but they presumably didn't have enough material to make a whole show of nothing but, and I don't think it was the done thing in those days to make shows just stringing clips together

I remember the clip that won the first series was very funny the first couple of times, but it was played every week and lost its impact

Is that the one with the "good solid safety rope"? I remember it vividly but haven't seen it for decades. I also remember one of the other contenders being a lady that got stuck in the mud while trying to save her dog. It was much funnier.

This discussion has reminded me of something I saw on Reddit recently:

In 1999, you could make a living wage with an average of just 2.2 You've Been Framed Acceptances per month (YBFa/m). Now you need more than 5.2YBFa/m. The stagnation of the YBF fee is putting a huge strain on our resources of clumsy grandparents

Are we sure they didn't air the first episode of the previous season instead of a new one then? That started airing in 2017, so the copyright date and endcap would be correct.

ITV Hub says it was Series 30 - Episode 10. Although later episodes of Series 30 have aired, I can't find any record of Ep10 airing previously.

And with almost everyone having the means of recording video now, they’ll inevitably end up with a bigger selection of footage to choose from, allowing them to be more selective, which has to be a big benefit for the show.

Gregg Wallace's Fun Weekend which was meant to air this Friday on Channel 5 has been pulled and replacing it is Around the World by Train which originally was airing before it at 8pm. I would guess it's been pulled due to the fact it features cities that are affected by the crisis and also no one's exactly going on weekend breaks anytime soon.

There’s probably a whole bunch of Series 30 that still haven’t aired yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if ITV have quite a backlog of YBF episodes, seeing as they hardly air it these days and yet it still seems to be in production. So I expect they’ll use these Tuesday/Thursday slots to work through their stock.

Looks like Thursday’s episode is actually from Series 29 according to Radio Times, yet once again the show’s Twitter account is billing it as a new episode, so it probably hasn’t aired yet.
