Yes - was trying to find the schedules as I know they're on a site somewhere. Suspect though if it wasn't on BBC1 it would have aired on BBC2.
EastEnders aired as normal, as did Changing Rooms afterwards. Then they went back to the news.

So this Thursday will be the first time no new episode of any soap has been broadcast on UK television (in primetime, in English at least - both Doctors and Pobol y Cwm are schedule ATM) on a weekday in quite some time I'd have thought -possibly since 9/11, and the first time they've not been scheduled surely since the late 80s when Corrie went three times a week.
