Save Our Summer doing a pretty good job of social distancing on screen and importantly looking like they are too, although a relatively large number of people on screen in one studio thanks to a six piece house band.

It definitely benefits from having the Horne Section on set to make up for a lack of a studio audience. Is Alex involved in producing this programme as per Task Master?

I don't believe so.

I only caught the first 10 minutes and it was enough really.

I did notice the set and branding felt very I’m a Celeb branded though.

Yes, Peter Crouch is certainly not the saviour of summer 2020 but do have to applaud the BBC for retooling the intended show into something.

Agree, it was enjoyable enough and it helps that the personalities involved are all likeable. The Jenas segment made pre-lockdown was the most obvious part originally made for the post-Euros show, would be nice if it does well enough to come back next year and see how it was originally intended.

It will actually be on just after a live football match in a couple of weeks, so it'll be interesting to see if they do anything with that.

I would agree with that, some of it was a bit shambolic but it was likeable enough. It was also nice to see for the first time in a while a programme that looked like a proper telly show in a proper telly studio.

If it reminded me of anything it was probably Number 73.

Heard that Hollyoaks are returning to film in July. One of the last soaps to return, maybe they feel with enough episodes (enough at 2 per week until late July? ) they don't need to rush back. Apparently they plan to increase the episodes from 2 to 4 in September and not go back to 5 until 2021. I hope the ITV soaps take a similar approach and don't rush back to 6 too soon.

Wth the potential risk of production being suspended again it would feel silly to return to full scheduling, better to build up a stockpile of episodes in case they need to close down again.

Hollyoaks will return to September which suggests they're taking August off.

I agree but we know ITV seem keen to get it back to 6 episodes of both their soaps asap!
