Are you sure by the "end of May" they didn't mean episodes that were originally meant to air at the end of May, not that they'll run out in May now they've cut the number of episodes?

Im not sure, but I took it that what was reported was Emmerdale would run out of episodes end of May and Corrie end of June. Its pointless telling us when they would have ended if it had kept the 6 or 7 episodes a week as that's not relevant now. Emmerdale finished filming on 20th March and it didn't go down to 3 a week until a week on Monday afterwards (30th March) so they already screened a full week after filming ended before it went down to 3. If it ends at the end of May that would be roughly 24th April they would have filmed to, so its not impossible they were only 5 weeks ahead especially if they had to film 7 episodes a week not 6. Of course its possible that some scenes may have been filmed 6-8 weeks ahead of transmission but not in sequence or the filmed material hasn't been edited properly yet. Also with the village being some distance from the studios they may well have filmed some scenes at the village for some episodes and not the studios or the other way around.

How have the old episodes of Hollyoaks been rating on E4 compared to the usual First Look?

How far ahead do Doctors film? They seem to have been totally unaffected throughout this period with 5 episodes a week as normal.

I presume they are still airing new episodes.

Doctors finished production at the same time as 'stEnders and Casualty, though it's worth pointing out Doctors doesn't air all year round so it was presumably always intended to go off air fairly soon.

Doctors normally takes a break during the summer anyway so I imagine it’s not going to be as noticeable for viewers when it goes off air.

Yes, odd that is seems unaffected so I guess they filmed pretty far ahead and may have finished this "season", which I think would probably go off air at the end of June before Wimbledon.

Guess it's not considered good enough to use to fill half an hour of primetime.

I think Doctors along with Father Brown and Shakespeare and Hathaway are on contracts which pretty much prevents them showing them in prime time.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but until being furloughed I’d never really watched Doctors before, and hadn’t realised what an awful, busy, cluttered title sequence it has.

It looks like they’ve taken the template from a 90s regional news programme - specifically a small region with a low budget like Border or Grampian.

I've just had a look, and you are right. There is basically about a dozen different things happening across the screen at the same time!

They did start reshowing one of the daytime series on Saturdays earlier this year but it was soon pulled. I think Father Brown may have got a briel early evening outings on Sunday and is a staple of the Drama schedule, plus sells very well abroad, so of all the daytime dramas is most likely to work in primetime if needed I'd have thought.

It's always been like that.

Based on this tweet by one of the cast, Doctors should safely make it through to their summer break and maybe even beyond that:
