Why so many elipses?

Oddly enough I was thinking about that when watching the celebrity one the other night. Not really surprising.

I imagine it will be a similar story with other programmes that film in the summer for the Autumn such as The Apprentice. The next series of Taskmaster is due to air in October so will presumably be due to film over the summer, I think they film the tasks over quite a long period.

Taskmaster are doing something online from next week setting tasks for people to do at home. Shame it's in between homes as they could probably have put something on to screen.

Guess some dramas will have continuity issues too with filming pausing in Spring and probably at best resuming in summer. That said though there is always a bit of trickery with us having to believe Christmas episodes filmed in the heat of summer are set in the winter for example.

If Social Distancing remains in place in some form for a year too surely Strictly is an inevitable casualty too.

Dramas should be fine, I imagine contingency plans are in place so that they can disguise the fact filming was paused and picked up at a later date.

Yes but they'll be delayed getting to air. There'll be a bit of a lack of new programmes in the autumn

They started on Monday, there's been 3 of them already. Such a great idea and they're getting hundreds of entries to each

I guess Strictly could find a loophole by switching the format to celebrity couples - who don't need to distance as they live together - and finding some way for the professional to train/choreograph them from a distance?

It would pretty impossible to make a show like Strictly with all crew, costume, lighting hair and make-up socially distant during set, strike and production.

Social distancing isn't just about those in front of the camera.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this in the thread but Hollyoaks is only on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday as of next week. The 18:30 slot on Thursday and Friday is another Simpsons episode.

Countryfile is getting a lot of stick as it was pre-recorded before the new measures were brought in. They are repeatedly Tweeting 'This was filmed before the lockdown'. They are staying on the air

If we've learned anything from this period, it's that a lot of people think lots of programmes are live when they aren't.
