For me, Corrie is a mess at the moment, and it has been like that for over a year now. I am finding it harder and harder to watch it these days, I often find my self doing something else and having it on in the background while I am doing uni work or something.
I mean... where has Sally gone? I thought the cancer storyline was going to be massive for corrie but it just faded away....
Maybe Tracy coming back will make it more interesting and shows 50th!
I'm trying to figure out how Kevin managed to half fix the breaks on the car without jacking it up or taking any wheels off
if he really was in the middle of it the car would be on a jack with a wheel off or something, it wouldn't be sat there looking finished if he was halfway through and suddenly had to leave it to sort Sophie out
I hope this thread isn't going to go down the road of that one on DS where Corrie gets routinely slated on a daily basis based on the most minor issue. Issues which occur on all soaps to actually create storylines.
I agree Andrew. I read the DS forums (but don't post there) and lots of people do seem very negative about Corrie on there. At the moment the show might not be the best its ever been but its been far worst than it is now. The car crash and aftermath scenes were excellent IMO. Hopefully things will improve by the 50th anniversary.
Speaking of DS forums - someone started a thread saying Claire and Ashley have been axed? Im not sure if there is any truth in this? I like Claire, not keen on Ashley, but I guess there isnt really much more they can do with them.
As for Sally, she has been absent for a while and im not sure why - hopefully Sally Whittaker is ok. Its been mentioned on screen that Sally is staying with her sister.

This is very good news!
Now they just need to devise an exit storyline for Shouty Dev, Auntie Pam and those awful Dobbses!
so the Peacocks are leaveing, only feasable storyline they have is Joshua finding out about his parentage when he's older, which is a bit of a long wait, and they can always return as Sunita and Janice did

Kim Crowther has not been good for the show in my opinion, but the current crop of storylines are ok.
I agree - people slated Steve Frost but he was good IMO and look at how good Emmerdale is with him as Exec Producer and Gavin Blyth as producer.
The problem seems to be that we have a good couple of episodes but then there are a few weeks where things dont really move forward and it becomes a bit boring. Hopefully with the new producer due to take over if he hasnt already things will improve soon.
Getting rid of the Peacocks is not a good decision. They are the only normal family group living in the street now (besides the Websters but their kids are growing up), and it was good to see at least one family having a relatively normal life.
It also means there will be a shop empty, no where for Graham to work and no butchers shop banter.

Someone else can take over the butchers and it's a good opportunity to bring in some new characters to live at Nbr 13.
