I've always enjoyed Leanne's character change: From stroppy teenager, to hard-faced and coke-snorting 'working lady', to a caring and positive de facto step-mother.

But that is a sensible evolution: one which people could have an affinity with, even if they haven't experienced the circumstances.

I think Rosie's transformation is to conform to airhead model archetype...although she's never been the brightest bulb on the chandelier-- part the reason why Stape abducted her wasn't it?

I can accept that she was never going to be the 21st Century's answer to Einstein, but she had to have a certain level of intelligence to pass the entrance exam for Oakhill, otherwise people wouldn't have to pay to send their little darlings there.

It's not credible for her to then 'evolve' into someone who is clearly 'educationally disadvantaged' (what used to be called 'thick as a plank').

don't say thick as a plank, the PC bods will be onto you because it's offensive to educational disadvantaged trees

you think Rosie's transformation is implausable where has Sophie's teen lesbianism suddenly come from Confused

Speaking of evolving personalities - Wasn't Audrey the street gossip up until a few years ago.

Dabbling in different sexual practices is quite a reasonable character development, especially for teenagers.

Although, they will no doubt spoil a potentially interesting storyline if they fall into the same blatant stereotype as Rosie's sudden regressive intelligence. We should expect to see Sophie with cropped hair and sporting the latest fashion in dungerees within days. Shocked

A mistake in the audio description on tonight's episode. Mary was called Sally by the fella doing the reading when he described her twisting the chocolate bar in The Kabin.

EDIT: And again, "Sally necks her drink in one".

I know I am the only one who cares about this, but I thought the audio description in tonights second episode, "In the Woolpack..." was worth mentioning.

Both with this and the Tracey Barlow thing you are basing your opinion on what the tabloids say will happen. At least let the storylines play out first.

Many times the tabloids sensationalise a storyline and then in the end, it doesn't happen anywhere like they said.

It's a number of years since Rosie will have had to pass her Oakhill exam, it's very plausable that her personality has changed to what it is now.

I didn't say her personality couldn't change, just that you don't suddenly regress to the intelligence of a 6 year old within a couple of years of leaving full time education, and more so if she was supposedly educated to a higer standard than normal.

Yes, she could become a manipulative, sociopathic selfish bitch - but she wouldn't forget how to tie her shoelaces: which is virtually what we're expected to believe to match the sterotype of being a 'model'.

No doubt if she had a story arc involving work as an office assistant in a legal practice, she would suddenly regain this lost intelligence in an equally implausible way.

I thought Monday's episodes were very well written. RE: storylines, I'm quite enjoying the Peter/Leanne saga and they're fast becoming two of my favourite characters at the moment. I loved the numerous exchanges between Audrey and Rita (when was the last time they were involved in a classic Street slapfest?!) and at the moment my least favourite would have to be the whole Platt affair - too drawn out and thus boring...

Strange concidence where Corrie and EE have almost the same storyline, whereby two "dead" characters sent a bouqet of lillies to their family members (mother and daughters) to celebrate their birthdays, whilst both hated the flowers. And in fact the bouqets were sent by someone else.

Did I miss that observation earlier? My Corrie episode was just aired tonight.

I hope Eileen dumps that lodger of hers. He is a waster.

it's also a funny coincidence where we have two pregnancy storylines (Lucy in EE / Molly in Corry) where they are told to have an abortion and tell all they had a miscarriage)

the difference being Lucy actually went through with it as being eastenders they cant do a happy story where she has the baby and her step mum adopts it because she can't have kids of her own

I doubt Molly will but the two stories are identical to a point

Yeah, epected that really , with his semi-retirement.

Although I find it amazing that Willaim Roache is 77 ( he nowhere looks that) and William Tarmey (Jack) is only 69 !
