that was a really interesting read one the corripedia site, thanks for putting that up

looking on other parts I found that number 7 was demolished to make more space for the set and reduce the need to recast new residents, funny how they didn't rebuild it when they made the first outdoor set as I always thought that massive black wall in the gap looked silly and unrealistic as where there's a gap in a terrace they don't erect a 25 foot high wall, they just leave a space.

an early corry memory of the old set for me is the episode closing with Stan Ogden being told by a polceman to move his lorry from outside his house as it was facing the wrong way, and he parks it on the other side of the street, cue titles

I bet Jez knows what that episode was about, he could be our official TVForum corry archivist

It was the Silver Jubilee episode from 1977 I think - the lorry was for an event they were putting on.

Most of those shows filmed at Granada are for the BBC or Channel 4!

where was the original Kabin geographically meant to be in relationship to the street? When the camera angle was always counter on the left, door at the back on the right of the shot, and a small back space again on the left?

It was on Rosamund Street somewhere,(the one where the bus stop is), and that door faced the entrance to the Alma's Café.

it was meant to be passed the rovers as I remember one episode when Curley was dating Angie and she lived in the Café flat, he brought a bottle of wine from the rovers and is seen leaving and going off down rosamund street round the side of the pub in the background of another scene

It was a short walk down Rosamund Street - maybe 2-3 mins from Coronation St

noticed deirdre (or rather Ann Kirkbride) show a little emotion when talking about Blanche

this dev / sunita story is just so pathetic, like you're just going to let two relatives hell bent on getting their own way make you change your whole life for a week Rolling Eyes

It could happen. Don't you remember when Apu had to pretend to be married to Marge because his Mum was visiting him in Springfield?
