no, it's Jason's brain which needs a new battery
don't think Peter's bar takes off judging by the photos of Camilla's visit, it's still boarded up in the backgrounds
what is it with TV soaps and cavenous bars in viaduct arches, they're not that deep, say 30x50 foot at a push
Emmerdale has the right idea, no railways, plays havock with the continuity

Ever reliable Wiki says she is 79 - I thought she was 89
Betty Driver is 89 - she will be 90 in May.
Also Barbara Knox has returned to filming - there were pictures of her during the Royal visit which took place on Thursday.

It was an excellent episode - well done to Betty still pulling pints at 90 and also Betty Driver is almost 90 herself and is still amazing.
I also think the Peter Barlow storyline is going to get really good.

Where's Rita been then?

Indeed, they have stretched credibility too far with the interior set for the new bar.
By the very nature of the viaduct's construction, the bar could never be wider than a single arch and never deeper than the number of tracks it carries.
Perhaps we're just supposed to suspend belief and accept that all licenced premises in Weatherfield use builders from Gallifrey.

just reading on a corry blog about some scenes in Emily's around the time of the lorry crashing into the pub, her living room suddenly grew so the back wall of her lounge, which like today is implausably level with the staircase, was moved back and looked like it blocked off the top of the stairs (which it probably did)
now if eastenders set desginers got it sussed right from the start in 1985 why can't the corry set designers

I noted when I last walked past Granada, that the at least exterior of Davenport's (that sleazy car salesman that Sally worked for) was underneath a railway arch-- can't remember if that's how it appear on screen or it was disguised?

Davenports was filmed inside the railway arch, which is quite deep due to all the tracks above, these are the same viaduct arches which were at the bottom of the original 68-82 exterior set which was built next to the bonded warehouse, the viaduct arch used for davenports may have been the same one seen at the bottom of the street
funny how on the original outdoor set the street was a façade and the viaduct was real, now the street is 'real' (as in complete buildings) and the viaduct is a façade

I've been looking at the first page of this thread from
six whole years ago
, and the general consensus seemed to
be mostly of dread at the prospect of Corrie signing up Bradley Walsh to be a long lost relative of Mike Baldwin!
It was thought at the time to be Granada's response to Shane Richie being in EastEnders.
Of course, we all know how it all eventually turned out!
