Something also hit me last night, when is it supposed to be Ken's 70th birthday?

well according to wikipidia Ken's D.O.B is 9 October 1939 - so a couple of months ago would of been his 70th.

Also just relised that William Roach in real life is 2 years older than Maggie Jones! Laughing

Yes. Also Blanche was only a few years older than Ken in the script as well - much closer in age than Ken is to Deirdre. I think Blanche year of birth was 1936 so only 3 years older than Ken.

I remember Blanche talking about 'during the War' a few years ago which I presumed meant she was an adult during WWII.

Well if she was around 9 when the war ended she would remember some stuff that happened.

Also, it was in character of Blanche to exaggerate and bend the truth.

The Google Street View of Coronation Street has appeared on their website today.

Quite interesting, but it must've been done a while ago as they are still showing Rita as one of the Kabin's proprieters, and at the end of the street the viaduct can clearly be seen to provide quite an abrupt end to anyone's tram journey! Wink

the mysteriously ending viaduct has actually appeared in scenes on corry where it's quite obvious that it would have gone through the museum / brewery building

the hilton tower is also visible above the viaduct (it's a wall with arches in it)

wonder if it will continue down rosamund street and victoria street as well

interesting to note two cctv cameras on top of the telegraph poles and numerous security spots lights filled onto the buildings

As it's quiet on here tonight.. thought this may be of interest to some. A YouTube link to a classic documentary presented by Kenneth Cope about the death of Margot Bryant (who played Minnie Caldwell) in 1988.

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5c13wU8eyM0

Even features a rare interview with Eileen Derbyshire.

How do you get Coronation Street on Streetview? Every time I type it in I get the outside of Granada Studios.

What a great find! Id not seen that before. Nice to see Lynne Carol who played Martha - I think she died a few years after Margot did. Also Eileen giving an interview is very rare indeed.

Thanks very much. Smile

Yes that was brilliant as a wee bit of bedtime watching last night.

I had no idea how on the nail that Victoria Wood sketch was - the three of them were spot on, not to mention the bar and the Annie Walker lookalike in the background.

Margo sounded a "diva", before such a term existed.
