I'm in a bit of a pickle here. Coronation Street and Eastenders are now fully head-to-head in my region, and both are now shown locally each evening at 7:30pm. I haven't been watching much of EE lately as it has gone off the boil a bit, but currently where I am watching, the cute son of Zeinab (so cute I forget his name) who is having a fling with Christian is being blackmailed over his affair and has even been caught on camera smooching with Christian behind the bins. Rivetting stuff.
Whilst over on Corrie at the mo, it's Kevin and Tyrone's wife (forget her name too, but for different reasons) who are having a fly awayday in Chester, whilst pretending to be running in a gay Marathon in Glasgow. Also, preparations are in full flow for Emily's birthday bash at the Rovers, whilst Fizz has just delivered a splendid speech from atop a bar stool in the Rovers, defending her new husband against Sally Webster's hate campaign. Again, it's rivetting stuff.
Have no clue how to even go about trying to record one or the other. At least on Showtime, there are ad breaks during Corrie, so I can flick over to EE for a few moments. On BBC Prime (now called BBC Entertainment), no ad breaks, and EE appears to be a bit longer.
What a ridiculous programming clash. You would think the local Sheikhs would know better than to do this.
So - is it Corrie or EE? Which one should I be watching???
Also, just incase you didn't know Corrie’s producer Kim Crowther will be partcipating in a live web chat at 9pm tomorrow ( Thursday) on the Corrie website. So you can put your questions to her if you intrested! http://www.itv.com/soaps/coronationstreet/news/coveritlive/
I'm a huge Corrie fan, but I think the writing's become really poor over the last year. I started to notice a deterioration around the death of Liam Connor, and ever since it's not been itself. Too many sensationalist storylines and actors, and even the lighthearted stuff, which Corrie does best, well, it seems a bit more forced.
Still love it, never miss it, but it's gone off the rails a little.
