DS got the story wrong first, then were corrected by the BBC, and are now quoting BBC News - why don't you go to the BBC to get the updates?

I know which site I would trust.

Just a thought.

Digital Spy did break the story first I think yesterday and did not say she had suffered a fall, although don't quote me on that.

They do break the stories first, but time and again they publish an entirely contradictory report an hour later when more reputable outfits check the facts.

It's the risk they face simply regurgitating tittle-tattle.

Put me in mind of the Stephen Gately story the Sun ran about him "binging on drink for 8 hours", when it seems to have been not the case at all. How awful for his family and loved ones to see that on the Monday morning.

Sometimes I have a browse of their pages, but invariably I think better of it and check the entertainment section of BBC News. Not as excitingly scandalous perhaps, but I can safely repeat something I've read there, where I wouldn't with Digital Spy.

But on topic - Blanche is wonderful. My positive thoughts go to to Maggie Jones.

It was The Sun who had it online first, according to the radio reports yesterday. I hope she's better and back with her one-liners soon.

Yep - I saw it first on The Sun's website. It later appeared on DS - 'The Home of Copy and Paste News'.

And yes, let's hope Maggie makes a swift recovery. Blanche really is one of Corrie's best ever characters.

Ooops, I just made this a whole new topic when I just meant to put it here, oh well!! I thought you all might be interested in my discovery... Coronation Street beer! I tried it at the Rain Bar in Manchester at the weekend - I'm not really a beer drinker but I had to try some!! Has anyone else heard of this?

A girl on Soap Forums gave me this link for it:

It would seem Nicky Tilsley is about to get another head transplant...

Ben Price to take Nick Tilsley role

At least he couldn't be a worse actor than Adam Rickitt. Unusual though for them to change the actor for a previously well established adult character. The only other example I can think of is Susan Barlow, although there was a much longer period where the character was off screen in her case. Have there been any other instances of this?

not often we get an adult soap character regenerating, I blame shortland street

Peter Barlow has regenerated six times and none of them have had even a hint of a Scotish accent Laughing

It was Casualty I recognised him from.

The article also states
Gail is preparing for her marriage to Joe...is this his exit storyline?

Well, Nick Tilsley was born on New Years Eve 1980. So he's currently 28. Apparently Adam Rickett is 31 and Ben Price is 37.

Looks a bit old for the role I'd say, but not totally dissimilar.

Price does strike me as more than a little too old for the job, I'm afraid.

I just can't see him looking almost TEN years younger than he really is.
