Big week of storylines and Corrie in HD from Monday (February 2004)

Last night's was a one off (a episode was skipped on Friday last week IIRC due to football) and the OP just gave everyone - including me! - a heads up about it.

Two episodes were missed that Friday....so shouldn't we expect to see another randomly inserted episode in the schedule sometime soon.

A bit of Sunday night Corrie would be a nice treat! Wink

I don't know why they can't just drop an episode once in a while. I do find it hard these days keeping up with all five episodes a week. Often I'll just watch the second of the double episodes on the basis that very little seems to happen in the first half.

Having said that, the show seems to have improved a bit of late after the usual summer lull. I've enjoyed the scenes with Peter and Simon - it's a bit of a different storyline, and quite touching too.

Incidentally, is Anne Kirkbride okay? Deirdre seems to have been absent an awful lot this year, and I get the feeling a lot of Blanche's lines were intended for her.

I'm sure I'm not alone in letting the 'tellybox' record my favourite programmes through series link. It was a nice surprise to sit down last night and find an extra episode of Corrie.

Having said that, the show seems to have improved a bit of late after the usual summer lull.

The 'Becky/Steve/Bent Copper' storyline went on far too long and I found myself fast-forwarding through most of that. I also have no interest whatsoever in whether Fizz tells people she is getting married or not, or whether she has her wedding in prison or at the local mosque/synagogue/church/ritual slaughter site. I also don't care if her new husband is accepted by the other residents or tarred and feathered on the cobbles at midnight! Rolling Eyes

However, I did think last night's episode was fab. Norris is a well established character and I think Malcolm Hebden portrayed the emotional breakdown over his brother's death convincingly. It brought a tear to my eye!

I didn't get the impression that Blanche's lines were written for Deirdre. Blanche has a secret caring side, and quite a soft spot for Peter.

Whoops - forgot about the second episode. (And it appears I've made a grammatical error in my original post as well...)

I'm sure such minor errors are overlooked when they are made by a well-established poster such as you! Wink

She does have that side... she has a unique way of showing it Laughing I think she does have a soft spot for Peter, I reckon she secretly likes the way Peter always answers back to her quips.

Speaking of which, I love the rapport Chris Gascoyne has with the actor who plays Simon!

saw an interview with Chris Gasgoine where he said he was pleased that he'd hit it off with the child playing Simon otherwise it would have shown on screen (maybe that's why Amy looks so miserable)

Jane "Owerleyanne" Danson remarked that Chris and that kid have a great rapport. She also said that her real-life husband (Robert Beck) is to return as Tony's henchman, Jimmy-- I suspect they may be to do with Carla's return?

Either Norris closed the shop very late or that was a party which ended very early. Also after deciding to turn it into her hen night and everyone singing happy birthday fiz ended up in Maria's. They were plugging away with mentions of Piers Morgan and Dermot O'Leary. How would the gay guy from the gym (can't remember his name) know where Jason lived and that there was a party on? A rather strange episode-they're good fun every now and then tho

The gay guy is called Leon. He would know where Jason lived as he has been around to Eileen's. As for the party it was the spur of the moment thing so he would not have known about it.

Norris was still in the kabin at 11:45pm as you could see the clock Wink

he was obviously up very late making all the changes to the shop now is his (in theory)

doesn't waste much time does he Laughing
