Did you get a pic with Anne Jez?

Shush. Don't encourage him.

Why not? I think it's great he gets many photos with the stars.

Here's a challenge for ya Jez... Eileen Derbyshire and Maggie Jones.

They look a bit scared, don't they?

Some people think it's a bit sad but I love Corrie so much I find it exciting spending time waiting to see how many of the cast I can meet!

I dont think ive got any chance getting Eileen Derbyshire - she gets driven out in a taxi and puts her head down so doesnt want to even be seen let alone stop and have photos taken lol!

Nah they are used to it - there are people that go there way more than I do. I only go a few times a year.

From what I can tell, you are most likely to get either the youngest stars who would think nothing of going to work on foot or the newest characters who are loving the attention because they know they could be axed from the show any time and only appear in much lower profile shows in the future. Plus of course some stars can stop if they are leaving by car.

For example when I was there, John Stape actually came to the gates when he wasn't arriving or leaving so made the effort. I imagine Ken Barlow is a bit fed up of autograph hunters 49 years on. I doubt you would get Barbara Knox or Betty Driver.

By the way, do you know what they are filming at Granada itself this week as there was a crowd just going in as I was there. The audience didn't look particularly old or chavvy which rules out two of the programmes they make at Granada!

I met Betty Driver - she was the very first Corrie actor I met 3 year ago. Barbara Knox and Eileen Derbyshire are prob the two you will never get at Granada. Ive seen pics of people meeting Maggie Jones cos they have gone around to the hotel she stays at which is on Water Street. I wont do that tho - I never follow the actors when they walk/drive away as its not right. Meeting them at the studios or a theatre or something is one thing. I saw some bloke who seemed keen to meet Samia Smith try and run after her car when she drove out. I didnt attempt to stop Ali when she drove out after we watched the late night filming even tho she is one of my faves- at that time of the night it wouldnt be appropriate.

Did you come across a lot of people waiting by the gates when you passed Andrew? Some seem to be regulars there and go nearly every day.

I know Countdown and Mastermind get filmed there, plus Jeremy Kyle always seems to be filmed there on a Thurs/Fri which are they days I tend to go - people are always asking us by the gates if the Corrie enterance is where they need to go for Jeremy Kyle.

I think your right - it's better to go a few times a year and ask them nicely for a photo ect. rather than being an overly obbesive fan camping out side their hotel and the police getting called for stalking!! Very Happy

There was a decent number of people, some seemed to be professional photographers though

There was a story recently of someone stalking Craig Gazey so it's probably best you don't come near to crossing the line unlike those who go every day who probably do need worrying about (and who should probably also have a job)

The school holidays probably bring people out as you've got the science museum just next door with lots of people around that side of town. In term time it's probably deserted. (Besides school trips who probably wouldn't be allowed to make a detour via Granada)

We don't seem to have heard anything regarding the possible reopening of the Corrie set since the initial story. Opening it one day a week with an entrance fee sounds like good business to me

There are usually about 5 or 6 photographers there. They tend to be there when i arrive at around lunchtime and go around 3pm so often more cast will stop later in the day when its quieter.

Didnt see Craig Gazey at all this time - when I was there in May he walked in and out several times.

I am wondering if there is any truth in that rumour that they might re-open the tours. They could do it on a Saturday and Sunday I suppose as they is rarely any filming going on at the weekend.

So scared, they agreed to pose with Jez? Laughing

Thanks for those uploads Jez, I always enjoy seeing your pics. It's quite interesting to see how different some of the actors look from their characters, and hearing what they are like (as people) in real life. It's nice to hear the actors make the effort and even engage you in small talk (when they don't have to)-- I see no harm in that Smile

Thanks. Yes some are more friendly than others - Karen Henthorn for example always seems to make conversation with the fans. I try and think of something to ask them - I asked Anne K if she is still enjoying Corrie and she said "no - it's a job!" but she did laugh after she said it. I don't blame her for staying the amount they must pay her.

wow jez, you've been busy, drop me a line next time your up and I may join you

I read an interview with Anne Kirkbride and if you want her to talk to you DON'T CALL HER DEIRDRIE! Mad

she hates that and ignores people when they do that, which is understandable.

Saw Helen Worth when I was a child with my mam and said 'Hello Helen' and my mam told me not to be cheeky Rolling Eyes

last corry star I was Jean Alexander as I used to live in the same town, of course every time I saw her I didn't have the camera Mad
did pass her a loaf of bread in Morrisons once Laughing

I think opening the corry set for the 50th anniversary next year would be good
