And talk of the opening titles needing changing when the Metrolink trams change
their colour. They should be using edited titles with no tram at the moment as the
majority of the system is closed for engineering work!

True. The City Centre line and the lines to Altrincham, Salford Quays and Eccles are all closed for track
upgrades and station refurbishment works. Although, which Metrolink line does the section that goes
(fictionally) via the Coronation Street viaduct in Weatherfield supposed to be? I would hazard a guess
the nearest real section of the Metrolink would be the Cornbrook viaducts, which would be linked
(fictionally) to the one at the end of the Street, as they look virtually identical.

I'd go as far as to say that they'd most probably use the entrance of the Cornbrook stop in the show,
if they wanted to make it look as though Weatherfield has its own Metrolink stop a few streets away.

Never mind the trams; that bloke with the pink umbrella during one of the stings must be pretty fed up of it always raining everytime he goes the Rovers. Surely he would have switched locals by now?

The Corrie titles are out of date and ambiguous anyway, so I doubt they are going to alter them on account of the Metrolink trams getting a lick of yellow paint. Shocked

T'Corner shop still has the pre-bomb frontage (after quite a few years) and the overhead (CGI) shot of the street environs conveniently forgets the black-bricked bridge/viaduct/tramway which is shown as being at the side of the Rovers in a later part of the same sequence. Shocked

there is also a shot down the back alley and the viaduct isn't there

funny irony that on the original outdoor set the viaducts were real and actually went somewhere, well they cross water street and would have gone down the side of the bondage warehouse and across the corry set beside the museum of science and industry, the remains of the track as still visible in the cobbles outside the factory
(I recommend you looks at some old maps of manchester and the granada site, some very interesting history there Wink )

There is nothing to suggest that the ginnel shown in the title sequence is the one at the back of Coronation Street. Wink

It could be behind the notorious Tile Street! Very Happy

good point, is the alley behind the terrace the only one not littered with wheely bins and an old mattress

I was in Manchester today and managed to spot a grand total of 6 Corrie stars, 6 more than I usually see when I visit on a weekend. I didn't say hello or anything though as I'm not that forward, plus those that were away from Granada were going about their own private business and were with other people

I saw 'Ryan Connor' in the centre of Manchester itself (on two seperate occasions bizzarely) and 'Roy Cropper' and 'Michelle Connor' walking to/from Granada. At the Corrie gates themselves 'Luke Strong' and 'John Stape' were signing autographs and having their photos taken with fans while 'Audrey Roberts' left in her car.

You can also see the 'Joe's Klever Kitchens' van parked in the area where the Granada Studios Tour used to be

Well done on spotting so many Andrew. Ive never spotted any away from the studios in Manchester apart from Ben Thompson once around Picadilly gardens.

I was there Wed/Thurs and met Anne Kirkbride, William Roache, Kym Marsh, Jane Danson, Helen Flanagan, Ben Thompson, Craig Kelly (twice), Michael Le Vell (twice), Katy Cavanagh. I was shocked to get Anne - she stopped in a taxi around 7pm on Wednesday, but most of the more regular autograph hunters at Corrie have never met her. Some of them werent best pleased with me when I told them the next day id got her lol!

Here are a few of my pics

Helen - with the bag the papers said cost her £695!!!!

From DS and may contains spoilers for Carla's return.

My friend Emma and I were on a night out in Manchester on Thursday and after Canal Street we decided to head down to the Ox as we think its somewhere where some Corrie scene were filmed in, but we never got there as passing by Quay Street we noticed there was a film crew and vehicles outside of Granada. This was around 11pm. We wandered over to the gates and hung around a bit and then Craig Kelly (Luke) walked out so we both got pics with him. Helen Flanagan then drove out. We walked along and stood quietly by the railings and we heard someone say "ask Ali to come out". With that Alison King walked out and filmed a scene a while later just across from us! Not exactly sure what happens but it looks quite dramatic from the little bit of this we saw filmed.

No I didn't - she would have had a pic but the charge had run out in my camera by then.
