I remember the picture falling off when tracy was murdering Charlie Laughing

when Maya trashed Dev's flat she throws a bowl across the room and it colapsed as soon as she picked it up Embarassed

remember an old episode with Brian, Gail and toddler Nicky where Nicky is chattering away during the scene and at the end Brian says to the child 'And you can shut up an' all', and Gail starts laughing so I guess it was a quick adlib by Chris Quinten

guess they leave some things in due to time constraints, especially with the children, young Benjamin Berisford as Joshua used to answer back to fred and Ashley in some scenes and you could see Steve Arnold trying not to laugh

Yes Luke is no loss - what a dissapointing pointless character. I like Joe so it's a shame to see him go

I wouldn't say he's pointless; his purpose is to fill in for Carla, continuity of sorts. You may consider him disappointing, but I thought he was alright, had a certain charm/charisma about him-- but admittedly no replacement for Liam Wink

I don't think we should be faulting characters like :
* Joe (I prefer David's 'Joseph' lol) Very Happy
* Luke Wink
* Daryl Razz

When there are more permanent characters who deserve to get the boot, such as :
* Eddy Windass !!
* The 'Tyr-olly' combine. It's just wrong - genetically! Shocked
* 'Cluur' Peacock - the best advert for passing on organs while still alive!
* SHOUTY DEV (and that fat customer who seems to be stuck in the shop and obviously can't get out) Mad

In my opinion he is pointless. What has he done? Hardly anything. A huge disappointment to what we were promised. Im glad he is leaving. And this has nothing to do with Liam and Carla - even if Luke was an excellent character he wouldnt replace Liam or Carla for me.

Im also not saying anything bad about Joe and Darryl either - I like both of them, its just Luke who irritates me.

They should have used a photo from that 1970s seaside trip that they all went on (assuming Emily went on it)

Which one is that Andrew? Are you thinking about when they went to Majorca? Bet, Reet, Mavis, Betty, Emily, Annie, Hilda and Deirdre went.

That's probably the one I'm thinking of.

Good to see realistic teenage joyriding tonight with Chesney being barely able to drive

Normally they get in a car at 17 and two weeks later have passed and are driving pefectly

And tonight was the turning point for Anna Windass for me, I now like the entire Windass family (the main 3 anyway)

good to see them actually use the windasses and not make the same mistake they did with the mortens by giving them nowt to do for two years

it helped that the came in with a storyline, unlike the mortens who just moved in

good stunt, I somehow doubt Sam Aston was driving although he probably would have wanted to

I also doubt Sam was driving - he is 16 in real life apparently.

I like Anna Windass too - Gary and Anna have been my faves in the Windass family.

Keeping Carla's seat warm, and maintaining 'her presence' in the factory. Plus keeping Tony in check; playing good cop to Tony's bad cop-- also providing a foil for Rosie's... ahem... amibitions.

Bear in mind that Luke has only ever meant to be a temporary character, so I think there's little point in giving him any longer-running storylines of substance. He's just there for continuity whilst Alison King is on maternity leave. If you find him irritating fair enough: Yes he's not Carla or Liam, but I found him to be quietly charming and humorous [shrugs]

In theory Sam Aston could drive on the Coro set if he wanted to, since it's not a public highway (in real life Wink ). Not sure about H&S/insurance for him to do so though...

He's barely in it - not exactly doing much to keep Tony in check. It seems Tony is more or less allowed to come and go as he pleases.

I find him neither charming or humourous.

I assume Tile Street is filmed on location tho so in theory Sam wouldnt be allowed to drive in that scene.

that's why he had his hood up, so we wouldn't see the stunt driver Very Happy

and how deaf is Rosie, Chesney made so much row driving the car he may as well have popped in and told her he was nicking it Rolling Eyes

I recall that Luke did put Tony in his place when he became majority share-holder-- Luke reminded Tony that he was the ultimate boss. Tony can come and go as he pleases, because Luke is there to run the factory; thus you could say another (plot) function of Luke, is to allow Tony to swan around with Maria. As I intimated earlier, he's not in it much, because he's just filling in for Carla-- therefore no point in giving Luke a major storyline.

Good point about Tile Street.... as pointed out, the hooded-top was a cunning disguise!

When Luke joined the show it was never said he would stand in for Carla - as far as I was concerned he was a new character and would stay after Carla's return. Or did I miss the statement which said he was only there for the duration of Carla's leave.

Anyway im glad he is leaving as I cant warm to him - if I do meet Craig Kelly at Granada tho I would still have a pic with him as ive nothing against the actor! Laughing
