bbcworld, how long is it since you last saw corry

As I mentioned in my post above, Jez, I have only recently (days ago) got access to Showtime Middle East through the merger with Orbit and - as such - only now able to access Corrie. The episodes shown in my region will be several weeks (or a month) lagging behind initial UK transmission.

The last time I saw Corrie was around 2001/2002. (Apart from the single episode I saw a few days ago and one I saw last night). Back in 2001, IIRC Sally Webster was having an affair with her posh boss and Ken Barlow's young Scottish grandson was on the programme as well. Norris also raised a false alarm when he thought Rita was dead upstairs in her flat!

In terms of the current episodes we are seeing now in the Middle East, last night Audrey caught onto the fact that it was her grandson David (my, hasn't he grown) who actually organised the burglary of her flat, whilst Gail (my, hasn't she just stayed the same as always) also started to feel that David was the culprit. Whilst Fizz (my, hasn't she blossomed) had to seek refuge with Roy and Hayley since her imprisoned boyfriend was diagnosed with clinical depression and no longer would entertain Fizz's prison visits!

Meanwhile, some Scottish bloke from the factory went to ensure that Maria (my, isn't she big!) was ok after her false alarm baby birth. And some other guy (used to be in Queer as Folk) was trying to encourage all the factory workers to take a stake in the business to enable him to pay for an electrical refit because young Rosie Webster (my, isn't she as wide as she's tall) was almost electrocuted. They were all sceptical, especially Janice Battersby (my, my, my Delilah) who saw it immediately as a rip-off!

All in all, a typical day in Weatherfield! Starting to get a bit hooked now........LOL, (eats words.)

Not forgetting Audrey Smile

Oof, knew there was somebody I had forgotten!

@ BBC World:

Scottish bloke= Tony Gordon, played by Gray O'Brien (used to be in Peak Practice). Tony was involved with Carla, who returns soon (actress Carla King is maternity leave). Carla left running to the factory to Luke (Craig Kelly, also from QAF!), and old associate of Carla's.

Carla was having an affair with Liam, the father of Maria's baby. Tony was seeing Carla at the time; so Tony did the rational thing, and had Liam fatally run over! Only Carla knows this (Tony's henchman aside). Maria also knows about the affair; but for a while Maria was convinced that Tony had killed Liam, but she had a change of heart (yes really!)

Tony has upset a few people on the Street. He unsuccessfully tried to force Kevin to sell the garage (which Tyrone part-owns now). He also enraged Roy by arranging to have protected bats exterminated for the flat developments. Tony also bugged Noris, by putting pressure on Rita to sell the Kabin to him.

Gay barman= Sean Tully, played by Antony Cotton who was previously in QAF, as you say (don't mention the actor's chatshow Wink !!). Sean was friends with Todd Grimshaw, which is how he ended up lodging with Eileen. Had a baby with Violet (was she in Coro in 2002?), on a 'sperm-donor' basis. He got attached to the baby, driving Violet away; she became involved with Jamie Baldwin (grandson of the deceased Mike), then fled to London.

He also has an uneasy relationship with Michelle (who returns soon), after he had a fling with Michelle's then boyfriend Sonny.

Anything else you need to know, you know where to come Laughing

As told to do at the end of the episode, I've just been on the new itv.com/corrie and I have to say it's quite good

The character interview videos are quite good, although there is only a selection up so far, generally the younger cast members (what's the chances of Barbara Knox doing one?)

Your opinion of characters can change when you watch the videos, the people who play Rosie and Ryan come across well as do Chesney and Fiz

I can't work out if Jack P Shephard is actually a funny guy or a bit of a ******

No chance of Barbara doing a video I would guess.

Helen Flanagan (Rosie) is definitely one of the nicest cast members ive met.

I thought the posh boss was Ian Davenport, that was around 2004/2005 I think

Nice to see the Radio Times having a Corrie cover this week with the fab Becky, and also an interesting article about Corrie barmaids. Id rather pay £1.10 for the Radio Times than 47p for Whats on TV which hasn't had a Corrie cover since March 2008.

the davenport story line was 2004/2005 as in one scene, after Maya torched Dev's shop, Ian goes to the websters and remarks on their smoked damaged walls and asks what happen, which I found silly as he could hardly have missed the totally gutted shop next door when he walked in Confused

also I took photos of the davenport garage set in May 2005

no idea who sally was having an afair with in 2001, could have been the guy she ran the hardware shop with

is it me or do the writer remember Chensey's birthday every year Confused
