been meaning to ask, is there an underlying reason for Michelle being written out for six months

Presumably this was part of her pre-arranged maternity leave and if she had no wish to return immediately then there would be no point in rewriting the storylines. Many employers would continue to respect any agreed maternity leave under tragic circumstances such as the death of the baby after a premature birth.

Did Kym Marsh return to work to film the departure scenes, or were they already 'in the can'?

The Sun have blown it out of all proportion as per. It's just a storyline - Rita does 'retire' but it doesn't last very long.

Why though? They do the same with Betty - retire her every few years only for her to return a couple of weeks later, despite being a good 70 years above the retirement age.

Why not be realistic and retire the oldies, and then give them post-retirement storylines.

I thought it may be something to do with that. Michelle suddenly 'went to Ireland' then reappeared, got the six month gig, then left.

Im not sure that Michelle will be away for 6 months? I heard Kym Marsh had 6 weeks off?

Apparently Alison King's return has been put back, I assume this is because Samia is going on leave in October and they want Carla's return to coincide with Maria's exit. Gray is also doing panto in December/January so will also be taking a break.

Corrie was brilliant tonight - the barlows were hilarious at the AA meeting! Best episode for me since Carla's exit.

I'm amazed how Ramsay manages to buy Noris a pair of shoes which fit perfectly. I's a trick and a half buying shoes for yourself which fit like a glove, let alone somebody else

and what happened at the end with Noris in bed with the Shoes on, I was expecting another scene where they discover Noris is wearing the shoes Confused

Soaps do funny things at times, I would never try buying a pair of shoes for someone else, and another point, since when did the rovers sell M&S mini popadoms? (That was last week)

I agree, Jez. They were excellent scenes which had me both cringing and laughing out loud. Laughing I'd imagine all the other people at the AA meeting felt quite good about their lot in life after hearing of the Barlows' woes!

It's a shame they had to pad out the episodes with hospital scenes involving 'Clurr'. I had hoped that she was suffering from an end-of-contract-induced fatal illness. I can always live in hope. Wink
