I think the word you are looking for is mistake, not flop, but anyway that would be widely regarded as being the axing of News at Ten.
Personally I would have moved Coronation Street so it ran:
Monday 7.30 & 8.30
Friday at 7.30
2 out of 3 of Tuesday 8.30, Thursday 8.30 or Sunday 7.30

Anyone think they'd have been better off with Corrie at 8pm and Emmerdale at 8.30pm?
Corrie seems to have a more loyal following than Emmerdale, and a bigger audience, so would pull people back from EastEnders, but with Emmerdale there's a danger Corrie fans won't switch to ITV1 after EastEnders, and by 8.30pm might have got too engrosed in another programme to return.

apparently she was not available at time of filming
bit of a cock up during the prison scenes, when the guard comments on prison weddings and John says 'thanks for the advice, behind him in the background is a very tall ladder and a blank wall, suggesting the end of the set, yet in the next scene when he speaks there is suddenly the rest of the prison set
and who's bright idea was it to have the toys in the harveys sponsorship talking, makes it really stupid

Indeed Crossroads was reduced to protect the quality, The same thing should happen with Corrie IMO.
Brekkie I don't think Emmerdale after Corrie would work - Corrie has a loyal following and im sure it will get decent ratings on its Thursday 8.30pm slot once people get used to it - there need to be promotions on ITV and a mention of when they next episode is on the Monday.

The bottom line is that ITV have got little else guaranteed to bring in a decent audience these days. But they could yet kill the goose that lays the golden egg. It is ironic that Crossroads (never as good as the Street, but which drew huge audiences in its prime) was reduced from five to four episodes per week because the then regulator (ITA or IBA) thought there were too many episodes to maintain consistent "quality." As far as I'm concerned Emmerdale lost it years ago.

It needs a regular slot rather than moving it between Tues/Thurs/Sun
If they need 5 eps to schedule id have done it
Sun 7.30
Mon 7.30 and 8.30
Fri 7.30 and 8.30
and if they reduced it to 4 id have done it
Sun 7.30
Mon 7.30 and 8.30
Fri 7.30

Pointed out a few posts above:
On a separate note, the actress who plays Liam Conners mother seems to have changed, it used to be Sorcha Cusack but now seems to be a completely different woman! Any word on why this is?

The scheduling makes sense.
Better to allow Corrie to establish itself in a new permanent home rather than move it endlessly from its Wednesday slot to make way for more than 20 matches throughout the year - even moving it to 7pm on a Wednesday would have lost it viewers.
And also notice the new schedule brings an end to Emmerdale and EastEnders clashing every Tuesday - not coincidental I should think, as that was gradually eroding Emmerdale's average audience, thus having an adverse effect. So this is definitely the best case scenario for ITV.

Maybe if you read the thread you're writing in, you'd know.
have they got a new actress to play Liam Connors mum?? His father is the same. When Maria's inlaws flew over from ireland I cou;dn't help thinking there was something different!
