never understood why soaps don't film morning scenes in the morning / evening scenes in the evening,

Early morning/evening scenes have the same daylight quality. Perhaps they think they can get away with them appearing as the same for the viewer.

not when the sun's out Wink

it rises from behind the viaduct and sets behind the health centre (bonded warehouse) so the shadows on the terrace vary in their direction during scenes supposidly taking place at the same time of day, the factory girls going into work for example, it's more noticeable on the side of the Kabin which in the morning is in shadow and in late after noon in full sun yet I've seen a few scenes outside the factory when the staff are turning up for work and the Kabin side is in the sun, indicating they filmed it in the afternoon, other times it's in shadow when they're turning up for work indicating the filmed it in the morning

just something all the soaps do and it makes no sense as the sets are permanent therefore the shadows they also create are also permanent

they do it on the indoor sets as well, remember an episode years back where it was breakfast time in the Platts with the sun coming in through the back windows (which face south-west) then cut to same time in the Duckworths with sun coming in through the back windows (which face north) Confused

anyway probaly me just being picky Rolling Eyes

Not at all, stevek2, your attention to detail is remarkable.

If TVF had an award for 'Best Corrie Fan' I'm sure you would be in the running - although I suspect that Jez would challenge you for the title at some point! Laughing

LOL! Well I like to think I know a lot about Corrie's past and present storylines but perhaps Steve has better attention to detail! Very Happy

I may be older than Jez but he has a collection of Corry DVDs to fall back on

(I'd probably spend my time spotting all the continuity errors in the set designs Rolling Eyes

I just have a good attention to detail, very important for a teaching assistant, teach the children to be more observant, trouble is they spot my mistakes Embarassed

I think some thing like that is important especially as viewers are familiar with the corry environment like their own enviromnent, you all know whether the front of your house is in sun or shadow first thing in the morning, likewise we all know the corry terrace faces south

then again saying that the terrace on the original outdoor set faced west so no wonder they're confused Laughing

If they ever decide to re-build the Corrie set at a new location, perhaps they could do so on a large Blankety Blank style revolving platform. Wink

Can't say I'd ever paid much attention to the direction of the shadows/sunlight. I had always noticed though how the satellite dishes on what are now the Windasses' and Molly/Tyrone's houses face each other.

On the subject, I can't believe how few houses do have satellite dishes on the street, and I think I'm right in saying most of the houses don't have a TV aerial either. Have they not heard that the North West switches to digital later this year? Wink

On the subject of missing bits of the set, whatever happened to the Post Office counter in The Kabin?

Maybe a victim of the Post Office cuts ?

Is it me or is there a new window in the Rovers, at the back past the doors to the toilets. Never noticed that before.

They've still got the Post Office weighing scales in there, and the outside signage has recently been renewed with Post Office logos intact though.

It appeared when they put in the route out to the smoking shelter in the yard, via where the dartboard used to be.
