I think Joshua needs some acting lessons from Simon, he just sounds like he's saying words. I hazard a guess the boy playing Simon (Alex) has been to acting school, unlike the boy playing Josh (Ben) who as just grown up on corry without saying very much.

at least he's got a storyline now, get Amy Barlow one, all she does is sit there looking mildly indignant and staring into space Shocked

Now I'm sure the peacocks are good parents but I think the CPS may be a bit narked off at them leaving little Freddie playing on his tricycle in the back yard whilst they took Josnua to play football

Thought Blanche looked hilarious in the pilot goggles and headgear this evening. Laughing

The trouble is they seem to concentrate too much on the same characters i.e. David, Tina, Becky, Steve, Michelle and leave others such as Tom with very little to do.

I wonder if the gigantic spot on David Platt's cheek will get a storyline of its own soon. Wink

I loved the bit in Corrie last night when Ken threw the box of chocolates into the bush when he saw Simon and Eccles by the canal Laughing

Total guess here, but does anyone think a paedophile story is coming about with Graeme and Josh? Unless it's just me being paranoid, but I seemed to cringe everytime he touches that boy.

Ouch! A case of some members of the general public can't separate fiction from reality. I hope he's OK.

Oh dear, it seems that the 'God Botherers' have been stirred into action already by Ken Barlow's sudden aversion to christianity in the Easter episodes, according to Broadcast:

Quote:
Ofcom has received 23 complaints following Coronation Street's Easter special in which character Ken Barlow accused the Christian faith of targeting "vulnerable people".
The watchdog is now investigating claims that the programme was insulting to Christians, with most complainants saying the comments were particularly inappropriate given that the episode was aired on Easter Sunday.

In the show, Barlow, played by Bill Roache, made a string of outbursts against Christianity.

He also accused his grandson Simon's school of indoctrinating him to Christianity before vowing to tell the youngster "the truth" about religion.

"He is already being indoctrinated. I went to his assembly last week and they had paintings on the wall depicting creation. He is being taught creationism," he said.

I must say that I found 'Ken's' attitude rather strange as I don't recall him making such statements before; but each to their own, and I certainly didn't find it objectionable.

Do you always find it "rather strange" when people say things you haven't heard them say before?

I would have thought that as Ken is an intelligent, thoughtful man that his opinions on the subject were well placed - and in keeping with his character.

I think he's made pointed remarks against religion before (part of his radical left-winger persona I suppose), but nothing like the outburst there-- perhaps brought on by his angst of Martha?

As for the 23 complainers, they obviously have selective memories: Didn't that same episode have a traditional Easter service at a church? Or what about the story involving Sophie's adoption of Christianity? That's before we get onto Emily, who is a confirmed Christian and often talks about her faith-- so it's not as if Coro is on a crusade against Christianity.

Are they these complainers so insecure about their religious beliefs, that they feel threatened by people who don't share their views? Plenty of people in real life who hold Ken's views, and don't believe religion is the 'truth'-- Ken's character is merely a reflection of that.
