I dont like Luke either - he's no Liam.
I much prefer Tom as a "Liam replacement" but just wish they would give him more to do!

There was no purpose in the character really, seemed pointless to bring him in.

I always thought something would happen with him and Maria, but I guess not.

I thought that too.
The character was sadly under-used, especially when the likes of 'Auntie Pam' are often inserted into the double episodes simply for padding and add absolutely nothing whatsoever.
I'm sure there was plenty more they could have done with him.

He was a god awful actor, although the character had great potential.

STV's 5.30 show has just played a clip of this week's Corrie - and it had a film-like effect applied.
Is this happening to the show?
Is this happening to the show?

I saw that and just hoped it was a badly lit scene as it was supposed to be late in the evening.
I do hope they haven't gone down the filmic effect route. I don't think it adds anything; in fact I think the picture quality looks worse.

It was definitely field-reduced - a bit like Casualty was when they first experimented.
Possibly the preview DVDs were deinterlaced, badly rendered or somesuch.
Didn't look right, thats for sure.

I found out on Friday that Phil was leaving as my friend tracked him down on twitter and he was talking about his leaving party!
I love the way the article says the character has reached the end of his line - well if they dont give him anything to do what do they expect! As it says, one of the most exciting things they have had him do is walk Ozzy.
I have a feeling they brought him to take over the factory - hence the article about him returning after his initial appearance at Liam's stag night/wedding - but then they brought Luke in instead.
Tom was no Liam by end means but I liked him.
