is tonight's episode of the Bill so unmissable they have to stick the ad up over corry and obliterate almost all of the screen Confused

of was it some sort of generic onscreen cock up

classic ITV automation - and they wonder why they get so much stick!!! Even my local shows any other satellite channel rather than ITV for footie nowadays!

Exactly what I was thinking, good job it wasn't a particularly 'important' scene... although if I were Julie Hesmondhalgh, I'd be offended!

Tonight's episode was the best for ages. Loved the scenes in the restaurant Very Happy

Yes, the friction between Liz and Becky makes for good viewing.

But oh dear, just as the needless character cull seemed to be having the desired effect, why did they have to introduce Uncle Umed ?

Is this character likely to serve a useful purpose in the future ?

I assume he's the 'nutritionally unchallenged man' who loiters in Dev's shop all the time?

I confess that I've been fast-forwarding through any scenes involving Dev for well over a year because I can't stand his *SHOUTY* style of delivering his lines. I've seen better acting at the local am-dram productions.

"How durr yer thrurr yerr soft shulled crab at me." Laughing
Good old Jonathan Harvey.

Aside from the Bill ECP overlay cockup being a nuisance, it also rather drew attention to the fact that Hayley drove off without her headlights on - the only visible part of the picture at one point.

Laughing I suspect Uncle Pre-med will become 2009's Aunty Pam, but with added ham. In addition to Dev's oscillating vocal volume, over-use of "OK" and livestock impressions; we now have Dev's occasional Goodness Gracious Me -reject Indian accent, to crank up the irritation factor!

Im not that keen on Dev's uncle either - but I wasnt keen on Auntie Pam at first and she is better now.

I thought the wedding was quite rubbish overall, although they did manage to keep the outcome a secret, but IMO it was a bit embarrassing to watch in places. I am glad we are having a break from Becky, Steve and David Platt for a few episodes at least to concentrate on other storylines/characters.

Better now she's not been on screen for weeks. Wink

LOL! True. Although she did make a brief appearance behind the counter in the cafe!

I dont like Luke either - he's no Liam. Wink I much prefer Tom as a "Liam replacement" but just wish they would give him more to do!

EDIT: 10000th post!

Certainly was classic, I admit I burst out laughing when I saw Liz knocking over her own table, proceeding to squeeze Becky's face and simultaneously letting out a huge growl at the same time. Laughing

Edit: Hurray, 1500th post!

I appreciate what you mean: I think that was the idea in a way, to make it embarrassing and trashy; therein lay the comedy I felt-- especially when jutxaposed with Roy's restrained attitude and the officious registrar. That said, Katherine Kelly was a little OTT in my view.

I like Luke (not in that way!), I think he has charisma, assertiveness and a nice charm about him-- firm but fair. I'd certainly want him as a boss, rather than Tony Gordon!
