often wonder why the don't do what Brookside did and show old clips when somebody is reminising

I recall when Ken did the Rovers mural for the 40th anniversary, they had a flashback sequence with Ken hearing/seeing various characters from the show's past.

I think it's best if the prouducers use such techniques sparingly, otherwise it detracts from the 'realism' of the soap and gets too post-modern.

I may be wrong, but I thought that was in the Millennium episode?

You could well be right. Hard to remember since the two were close together... it was December 2000 anyway Wink

Gosh I'm going to sound like an awful pedant, but the Millennium episode was in Janaury 2000 . Smile

Ah yes, of course-- wakey-wakey Roger!! Laughing

ITV seem to be promoting Corrie with a new tagline - 'The Nation's Street'. It was on the end of a new ad for the wedding of Steve and Becky. Very well done, btw. Reminded me of when ITV used to make an effort with the specially filmed Corrie promos - they hadn't done one for a while so it was nice to see.

Why do soap couples seem to get engaged, married and divorced within the month nowadays!

And that episode is scheduled for 13th March - which happens to be Red Nose Day.

I'll be glad when this tedious storyline about Gary's court case is over. They've dragged it on far too long and allowed it to dominate some episodes completely. I doubt any of the viewers are bothered either way anymore!

So that's why they're promoting it two weeks in advance then.

Thanks for that. Looks great. Hopefully it'll be used consistently and we'll have more Corrie promos like this. I particularly like that 'Corrie' logo.

don't see what the issue is as Gary was annoying David so he reacted by starting the fight, surely that would be brought up in court, you don't go round winding up somebody knowing full well they are likely to have a fight wth you

Sometimes I wish Tina would ditch those earrings - they really are awful.

Also, I'm guessing these scenes with the windowbox are to cover Ken's absence or is it too early?

I would hope it's not deliberate but they quite often seem to schedule big storylines against Red Nose Day - IIRC it's the day Richard Hillman met his demise.
