Just checked and the lovely Claire is due back on screen on Friday 20th February. Yipee!

I was thinking about last nights episode and cant help feeling it would have worked better as a two hander between Carla and Tony (with Wiki and Maria at the end).

I agree. I feel because ITV insist upon this double every Friday, the writers have to come up with filler like the macaroon stuff (not doubting that Corrie does this kind of inconsequential stuff well but it certainly detracted from what should have been a more significant episode). The Tony and Carla scenes were, on the whole, very good, but they did drag on in places and I think if everything could have been condensed into one episode with just them two then it would have been better.

The ending was very well done (from Wiki onwards) though. Hurry back Carla!

macaroons are biscuits as they don't rise when baked Wink

I knew you would have the answer Steve! Wink

they answered it in Corry, Liz asked Eddie Windass who is suddenly a master baker and she told Steve when she went to the singles night

I agree that fridays would have been better as a 2 hander you just lost the suspence by popping in and out, all you needed was a
'meanwhile back in the factory' caption each time they showed Carla's car outside in the rain

talking of which nice touch with the thunder storm at the end, now they can make it rain when they want to you wonder if it's real or intentional sometimes

Thats terrible. Wasn't she Bill's manager as well? She did a lot to support him I know that.

Sad news indeed. They appeared on All Star Mr & Mrs last year too, seemed a nice couple.

I watched part of the Corrie Omnibous today and was glad to see they played the full theme tune over the credits without voice over/now-next-later slides.

Well as long as you don't say anything untoward about T Schaf..

hmmmm, well I dont see anything attractive or cute about Schaf at all - and thats a fact. That not too untoward is it? No matter how much you talk about him I am never going to fancy him.......

Anyway back to Corrie and I agree I liked that bit where she mentioned putting LIAM into the sat-nav!

Having an opinion of taste is nothing untoward, worry not-- and I don't expect you to fancy him. Although I do wish he wouldn't wear tight jeans as he did today, no good for my health.

I was quite suprised at that Carla line, seemed a bit out of character/context-- that was the idea I suppose. Thanks for clearing up the macaroon debate Steve, I wasn't sure if I had been resolved Laughing

On a serious note, that was sad news about Bill Roache's wife. She gave sterling performance as the judge on the Tracey trial. My thoughts go out to him.

Before Christmas there was a kids party at the Rovers in which John Thomson played a children's entertainer. Whose party was it?

it was just a christmas party for the local children, Amy, Simon, Joshua and Freddie

Thanks. I was thinking Amy was having two birthdays in as many months.

Is that John Thompson character due to come back, or was he just a one-off novelty cameo, a bit like when Peter Kay was in it a few years ago?

It did seem at the time that he could be a potential love interest of Eileen, but then nothing's come of it.
