It has been reported this morning that Karen and Amy might be killed off at Christmas, something to do with a car explosion. It would be a good exit for Karen, certainly going out with a bang and we all know Suranne is leaving at Xmas, but lets hope baby Amy is spared, we have already had 1 baby die this year so we dont need another, especially at Xmas time!

I'm sure they've said all along that Karen's not going to be killed off as they'd like to leave the door open for her to return at some point. I suppose they could have changed their mind, but as a popular character, I'd have thought they'd want the chance to bring her back.
Yes great to see Sunita finally freed! Tonights episode was rather good IMO. And they seem to be back in sync with the eps atm as tonights was clearly meant for a Friday.
We had the first mention of that quiz tonight that Blanche/Deirdre and Liz are going on, cant wait for the next few episodes, they should be great!
From the pictures given in the tv guides it looks like this fake quiz show the Barlows appear on is something simular to Family Fortunes as they are all wearing badges with Mum (Tracy), Dad (Steve) Gran (Deirdre) Great Gran (Blanche) - should be a bit of light relief anyway, especially if Blanche is involved!
When Corrie want special effects they dont mess about, they called in a James Bond movie
stunt expert and splashed out a reported £400,000. The drama will explode onto our screen
in a couple of weeks when one of Dev's shops is blown up deliberately, we'll see Dev thrown
through the air as the full force of the blast hits him, and to ensure every detail is as
realistic as possible, Corrie shot the drama in a real (but derelict street).
Strange . . . I thought it was going to be Dev's Corner Shop (on the Street itself) that ends up being firebombed. I've seen
pics of the scorched shop front on the set of Corrie in one of the redtop tabloids recently. Why would they want to setup
an explosion to blow up a derelict property, on part of some derelict street? They did blow up the exterior of the Rovers
on the Street set back in the summer of 1986, so surely they could do the same with the exterior of the Corner Shop?

From a spoiler in another thread I think several of Dev's shops will go up in smoke so perhaps they've filmed another in a derelict property too. For the Rovers fire they used a real cellar in a buiding that was due to be demolished for the internal shots.
CORONATION Street is to be screened eight times a week in an ITV1 programming blitz later this month.
Granada promise viewers an explosive climax to the mad Maya storyline with up to three visits a night to Weatherfield.
“The episodes contain some of the most dramatic and spectacular scenes ever seen in Coronation Street’s 44-year-history,” says a spokeswoman.
In a TV first for the Rovers regulars, five of the episodes will be screened in real time, in the style of American drama thriller series 24.
Millions of viewers have been gripped by the revenge wreaked by jilted lawyer Maya (Sasha Behar) over former love Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and his new bride Sunita (Shobna Gulati).
