The diffrence however between Coronation Street & Eastenders is that Coronation Street does sometimes have a happy ending.
Kat & Alfie and Billy & Mo where supposed to be both happily ever after couples & they f*cked that up despite viewers protests. I haven't watched it in an age & after seeing a p*ss poor episode recently made me wonder why they got rid of Brookside, even on it's episode it was fare better that Eastenders
By the way not all of us Londoners are misrable c*nts as they make out we are in the "soap"

I don't know why, but I just don't want to see this Maya/Sunita/Dev story unfold; why couldn't rhey just have a happy ending for once? Don't they realise that good drama is also about provoking happy emotions?

WELL DONE TO CORRIE!
Sam Aston is a 'dead brilliant'.
There was a time when I used to fancy Tina O'Brien (Sarah Platt) but...times have changed

What? How can you say that?!?
Heh, heh..
Not wanting to change the current subject, I just want to make a brief "announcement", if you like; two new items of Corrie merchandise (well, DVD's) are in the pipeline:
Coronation Street Annual - DVD
Although not available until November 15, find out more here
Get Fit with the Coronation Street Girls
Again, like above, not available - you're gonna have to wait until Boxing Day! (or thereabouts...)

Spoiler
Steve is tricked into appearing on a tv game show in London. He agrees to give Deirdre and Liz a lift to London as they are appearing on a game show, however when he gets there he discovers Tracy, Ken and Blanche are all there, and is forced to go on the show as part of the Barlow family, thinking that it will be a pilot show and wont be aired. However he is forced to phone Karen (who is in Dublin at the time visiting Linda Sykes) when a question comes up which says you have to phone a family member (very WWTBAM!) but he tells her he is asking for a bet he has with the lads at the pub. She gives the correct answer to him, which means Karen has won the Barlow family a new car. Afterwards, at the hotel they are staying at Steve ends up in Tracy's room and she makes a pass at him again, but he resists because of his love for Karen. When they get back to weatherfield Karen is unhappy when Tracy tells her about the family outing to London, but she is furious when she goes to the rovers with Steve only for the quiz show to be broadcast on the tv at the rovers, she is fuming when she realises she helped win a car for her arch rival, and attacks Tracy and throws all of Liz's clothes out of the flat window!!

I cant wait for this storyline, sounds good, it all happens next week as it was in the TV guides today. It was also the cover story for TV Times, TV Quick and TV Choice
From the pictures given in the tv guides it looks like this fake quiz show the Barlows appear on is something simular to Family Fortunes as they are all wearing badges with Mum (Tracy), Dad (Steve) Gran (Deirdre) Great Gran (Blanche) - should be a bit of light relief anyway, especially if Blanche is involved!

Yes Trisha would be more appropriate for the Barlow family
Although wasnt that done on
Fat Friends
when they all appeared on
Trisha?
I got All About Soap in the mail this morning which also has a Kate Ford/Simon Gregson cover
Also in
Soaplife
there is a picture special with a preview of the upcoming explosion.
Quote from Soaplife
"When Corrie want special effects they dont mess about, they called in a James Bond movie stunt expert and splashed out a reported £400,000. The drama will explode onto our screen in a couple of weeks when one of Dev's shops is blown up deliberately, we'll see Dev thrown through the air as the full force of the blast hits him, and to ensure every detail is as realistic as possible, Corrie shot the drama in a real (but derelict street. Not since RIchard Hillman drove into the canal has there been anything as spectacular in soap"
Looks like we have some action packed Corrie between now and Xmas!

Strange story - surely the Barlow family are more suited to something like Trisha!
