It'd be a sad day if Corrie ever moved out of Manchester. However I can certainly see them moving to a new location, allowing them to sell off Quay Street.
If anywhere, I could see them looking at Leeds, given its role as a base for drama production... if they can make room there, that is.

Honestly can't remember where the new location was, although I'm sure I was told. Leeds, umm, maybe?
My memory is bad enough not to land anyone in trouble by saying.

It's never done EastEnders any harm to be filmed away from the East End of London, so I shouldn't think it would really matter if they moved Corrie to somewhere else. It would give them chance to improve the exterior set, most of which is almost 30 years old (and perhaps correct some of the anomolies where the interior sets clearly don't match). They would probably have to vastly improve the current set if they decided to film in HD anyway.
Kirk is one of those under-used characters I think, although he is the perfect comedy foil for minor storylines.
Aaaargh! Please no more Kirk! He's as wooden as a block of solid wood from the woodshop in the forest. A voice like a foghorn and the physical acting skills of a Furby.
In you opinion ! Considering Andy Whyment is nothing like Kirk in real life (looks aside), I think that is a testament to his acting skills. As for having a voice like a foghorn and his physical acting; I think those attributes are deliberate to his character, since he's meant to be a
comic
character, lest we take him too seriously

Indeed. It would be awful if they moved production away from Manchester. Also I cant see many of the actors being happy, especially those who have worked at Quay Street for over 30 years.
If it did have to move id prefer it to be Leeds as at least it would be in the North of England still.
Weren't there reports about the possibility of it moving down the road to Salford? As ITV are apparently meant to be moving out of the Quay Street site and joining the BBC down at the new mediacity - and the future of the Corrie set is currently clouded in mystery.
The set move would be a positive in terms of them having the chance to update the exterior set and possibly even expand it, as well as fix a few of the irritating aspects such as the viaduct to nowhere.
Enjoyed the first part of Corrie tonight. The camera movements were very good in the John/Rosie scenes. It gave a real sense of tension. How come they've started doing that already though. Thats a totally different style to what i thought Corrie was. For a second i thought i was watching the Bill.
