I never miss an episode and cant imagine ever stopping watching. It has its good and bad patches but its getting a lot better at the moment. However the bad news is Michelle is back on Friday Rolling Eyes

Im going on holiday next week but getting it recorded - thank goodness Liam doesnt die on the 3rd October like the spoilers originally suggested and i'll be back in time to see his exit on 17th October lol! Wink

Last nights episode had the exit of Vernon - good riddance IMO.

A couple of dates for the other departing character

Jerry, Finlay and Kayleigh leave on 29th Sept
Mel on 3rd October
Teresa in early October
Liam on 17th October. Sad

It seems Darryl is staying on a bit longer which is a good thing as he works well with David, Amber and Tina.

Over the past few months I've started to think that Vernon was ok

In fact it seems to happen with all of them, you like them after they are already leaving, such as the Mortons

That's because when they leave, is often the only time they get an interesting storyline Laughing

I think getting Vernon out the pub was certainly an improvement, I've never minded him. I've always thought he's a well-observed character; rings true of various (pretentious) musos one sees about, who have a painful lack of self-awareness.

But the bookies? They've never struck me as a credible father and son for a start-- hardly Mike and Danny Baldwin!

I like Jerry, Mel and Darryl out of the Morten family.

Never been a fan of Vernon or the bookies but the son is ok.

Not Teresa? Surely she's the best of the lot

Dan is looking very fit and well for somebody who is without a spleen as people who have had spleenectomies can be susceptible to septicemia due to the blood not being filtered (due to the lack of spleen to filter it)

they can also get tired very easily

Although i still see jerry as sinbad (but that is now astonishingly diminishing) i think the Morton s are now a classic corrie family and what makes the family is teresa and her antics.

iwill sorely miss them, never given a proper chance and producers not realising that people do actully like the family now after their slow and mediocre start

Yeah like Teresa too, played by a great actress.

Corrie's going '24' style for Liam's death...

I've never watched '24', and I'm sure there are many ITV1 Corrie viewers who haven't. But, isn't this similar to the technique they used for the Maxine murder, and attempted murder of Emily some years ago.

There were fewer weekly episodes then, so it made a difference to have something spread over the week. It would be difficult for the casual viewer to notice now.

No... Maxine/Emily episodes happened over 2 episodes IIRC.

It's more similar to the Mad Maya week which had about 5 episodes set on the same day, but about 8 episodes in the whole week. Rolling Eyes

So, Mad Maya was a similar concept, they had built her up as quite a crazy character and able to sustain a thread through the week.

Despite the spoilers Evil or Very Mad we've seen here I don't see this storyline panning out quite so sucessfully. There isn't the same character or dramatic development, and Corrie hasn't drifted into a 'dark period' that was so relevant last time.

It could work, and I do hope it does. I love Corrie, and I'd like to see it do well with this storyline.

PS: I hate spoilers Evil or Very Mad so do many others!
Jez forgot to use the simple "spoiler tags", so we all had to know! Thanks Jez Evil or Very Mad

if you hate spoilers why are you complaining that Jez forgot them Wink

a whole week of corry episodes set on the same day is a bit new for them
