I suppose that's the curse of playing a very memorable character; in that it stays with you for the rest of your acting career (Leslie Grantham/Dirty Den for instance)!

I didn't watch Brooky-- but I believe Jerry Morton and Ken Hopkirk are similar to Sinbad (in terms of character)?

Wonder how many people still refer to Kenneth Cope as Marty Hopkirk then?

Jerry is near enough identical to Sinbad now. Sinbad even worked in a fast food shop for a time in Brookside

Everyone's forgotten now, but remember when Jerry first came into it, he was slightly dodgy, remember the scam with the shop sign. Now he's almost as honest as Roy

I totally agree and I, even, call him sinbad even today!

When I moved house I didn't have sky for a while and, therefore, didn't see the entrance of the family. But since I have had sky fitted (February) I must admit I do actually like the family and they have grown on me big style (although sinbad will always be sinbad!) and can't see why they are being written out.

Nice to see on Wednesday we were left with a bit of a cliffhanger which lasted 4 days not the usual half an hour!

Is there any truth in the rumour that Daryll is now staying after all?

Never thought I'd say this but I hope at least one of them stays. I really wasn't struck with the Mortons when they arrived, but I've grown used to seeing them now... Mel's a bit too whiny for my liking though. I like the scenes with Daryll and David so wouldn't mind if he stays on.

Digital Spy say he is sticking around for at least a couple of months with a connection to David.

In a way, Daryll reminds me of how David should be. Putting aside David's evil side, Daryll could easily be David. So both of them together its like the good and the bad, if you get my point.

Yeah I see what you mean Smile They are good double-act, no doubt helped by being friends in real life. I also don't mind Jerry (or Sinbad if you prefer), although I think Michael Starke was better in The Royal .

Mel's only purpose in being now, just seems to be in whining at Theresa. And has Finlay disappeared into the same black hole as Wilf?

I think Ashley and Eileen came out of character a little too early at the end of part one.

Surprised we didn't hear someone shout "CUT!"

Yes - especially as it actually made me go and double check for a Sunday episode and I remembered to watch it!

I still call Sinbad.... err Jerry... Sinbad: This is mainly down to the actor's limited acting abilities but I think it was mainly down to a bad casting error as the character was too well known and such a key character in Brookside for him to transfer to another big soap. He fits better into The Royal etc as the setting and type of story and pace is different.

I do really hope they keep Daryl though, he's settled in well and David and Tina need a character of similar age to have some interaction with and form a good late teens grouping for storylines.
